I stayed in the room with a balcony, which had two sufficiently spacious beds. Everything was very cozy, and the decor was fitting for the age of the property. I truly appreciate these experiences in historic (Victorian) homes that now operate as bed and breakfasts. The bathroom was private but not accessible directly from the room itself; however, it was relatively private thanks to a curtain the owners put up to separate the area. I must also highlight the beautiful view and tranquility from the balcony. And of course, the exceptional kindness of the owner (Peggy), who not only took the time to prepare a delicious breakfast each morning but also joined us and shared incredible stories about the house and her family. It was a charming experience that I would love to repeat. We felt very welcome. Thank you so much, Peggy!.

My family and I stayed at Peggy’s beautiful house/B&B for the night and loved every moment. We had three rooms, bathroom, and a kitchenette. The entire house was very clean, cozy, and beautifully decorated. Breakfast was delicious as well. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Positive: Hotel employee is a gem.....and so is her home. A wonderful stay in a 1800's Victorian gem. Fantastic company, breakfast and an architectural masterpiece! Negative: ""

It's a lovely place as the pictures show, and the breakfast and kind hospitality were exceptional. I've stayed at many B&Bs over the years, and what stood out for me at the Victorian Loft was the proprietress's thoughtful consideration to every detail, both in service and décor. Plenty of big fluffy towels, a bathroom counter and medicine cabinet full of toiletries (including those you may have forgotten!), excellent water pressure, and a very clever "privacy curtain" to wall off the room we were staying in with our bathroom (see picture). Our bedroom had several items of an unusual shade of subtle purple that clearly came from different places and times. "Good eye!" my daughter exclaimed when noticing this, and this is evident throughout the house. Our bathroom had a charming balcony with tables and chairs for lounging in warmer weather (see picture). We really enjoyed our stay and hope to visit again if ever again we're in the vicinity.

A+++++++ August 2023, My husband and I stayed in the second floor Bedroom that has one Queen bed and 1 full size Bed. Check-in was super easy with Peggy. Parking was simple --you park on the side of the house. She had candy and warm, delicious cookies in our bedroom. The bathroom is located next door and there is a curtain that you draw In order to have privacy to and from your bathroom, Water pressure was fantastic. Peggy showed us around the house and also showed us a balcony that we could sit outside and enjoy coffee in the morning if we would like. The room was beautifully decorated. The home is very lovely and decorated with lots of beautiful antiques. We felt like we were staying with a FAVORITE relative! The bedroom has a small television and terrific Wi-Fi and a ceiling fan in the room. (no refrigerator, no microwave.)|Peggy was terrific In that she accommodated our dietary needs. And and the Breakfast was absolutely fantastic!!|Thank you, Peggy! We will definitely stay at your home again. It was a lovely experience, and we slept terrific at your house! Thank you!!! We would HIGHLY recommend.

Our stay at the Victorian Loft was nothing short of exceptional. What started as an unexpected car breakdown on I-80 turned into a wonderful experience thanks to the warm hospitality of Peggy, the owner.
We were stranded on the side of the highway on a Sunday night. AAA told us they’d tow us to Clearfield, where a local garage could help us the next morning. We’re not from the area, so we turned to Google Maps to find a place to spend the night on short notice. We called the Victorian Loft with our fingers crossed and were relieved to learn that they had one remaining room and would hold it for us until we arrived. We had no idea what to expect and were mostly just happy we wouldn’t have to sleep in the car.
When we arrived, we found ourselves in a beautifully restored Victorian home adorned with historic knickknacks and family photos. Peggy, who has lived in the house for 38 years, was waiting for us and gave us a warm welcome. She showed us to our room, which was actually the entire attic floor, and surprised us with homemade cookies and milk. We felt like we’d been rescued by an angel, and gratefully turned in for the night after an exhausting day.
The next morning, Peggy treated us to a delicious homemade breakfast featuring blueberry pancakes, fruit salad, zucchini bread, and sausage from the local butcher. She even offered to drive us to the mechanic and back, which was incredibly generous and kind! Peggy also graciously allowed us to keep our bags and bicycles at the house past the 11 AM check-out time while our car was being fixed.
Overall, our experience at the Victorian Loft was unforgettable, thanks to Peggy's hospitality and the cozy, welcoming atmosphere of the place. Breaking down outside Clearfield actually feels worthwhile when we think about it now because it led us to the Victorian Loft and introduced us to Peggy! I highly recommend the Victorian Loft to anyone looking for a charming and comfortable stay.

This was the most pleasant stay!!! Peggy is such a wonderful host and lovely person! Breakfast was out of this world, we stayed there with another family and enjoyed breakfast together, we all agreed, kids included, that Peggy's pancakes were the best we have ever eaten! I HIGHLY recommend this place!!!! The location is so beautiful, our room had a balcony overlooking the river. Very convenient to walk to restaurants.

I had the opportunity to stay three nights at Peggy Durant's Victorian Loft Bed and Breakfast. If you are looking for serenity, this is it! This wonderful Victorian home sits right near the beautiful, quietly-flowing Susquehanna River which you can see from "Lydia's Room" where I stayed. The room features two double beds, rocking chairs, a desk, an ample bookcase, closet and lovely appointments. You'll not find a better breakfast anywhere! I told my hostess that I was not much on breakfast, to which she replied; "Well, half of this is breakfast!" I decided to go with it, and wowee-wow-wow!!! Peggy fixed something different each morning with homegrown ingredients and specially procured breakfast meat from a local farmer. (see photos) In addition to the fine bedrooms, there are two sitting rooms and a main dining room. The sitting rooms are filled with lovely antiques, books, and other interesting articles. Not only that, Peggy is thoroughly acquainted with the local area and history which was a huge advantage to me as I was on a research trip. Finally, even though this is a Victorian home, it has all of the modern amenities that you would expect and the home is in walking distance of churches, shops, a wonderful historical society museum, business district, and the county courthouse. Five stars for sure!
