We stumbled upon this motel on a weekend motorcycle trip with some friends. The owner couldn't have been nicer. We set up outside our rooms and had a ton of fun. The owner even joined us to hangout for a bit. We were sipping on some of WV's finest shine and had a ton of pickle shots. Unfortunately, the steakhouse was closed, but we had a blast enjoying each others company. Rooms were rustic but clean. We had a great time at the Laurelwood Inn. Many thanks to the owner for making it a memorable experience too.

I am truly shocked at the experience we had. Definitely not even 1-star acceptable.They have steak, but cannot be classified at a steakhouse in a dining experience. It was the night after Thanksgiving.
We made reservations an hour before arriving per their request, and we arrived to a table NOT ready, and literally 2 tables physically shoved together against the pool table while we stood.
There is a single stove for heat in the lower section, which does not work well.

Our waitress Sky was so annoyed and RUDE to us. Dropping menus on the table, dropping meals at the edge of the table for us to put to the right person.
No silverware, even after meals delivered.Dropping the checks without a word. 😳

The steaks had no flavor. But the side dish debacle was without words. They were out of soup, salad, coleslaw, TOAST, mixed veggies. And she knew when we ordered, and did not volunteer what WAS available. 20 minutes after the meals served, and because we asked twice, she volunteered that the sides were being "made" , but we shouldn't expect to have them before we leave. She actually SAID THAT. 😱

I sincerely hope the review helps others to find another establishment, and the owners to revamp their business and staff.

I don't usually leave reviews but this room was awful. I will say we stopped last minute with only 2 rooms available. Most rooms have a door for exit to parking lot. Ours did not. Not a big deal so I thought. Once in our room I checked to make sure fridge was plugged in only to have the freezer full of water. The man cleaned out with a towel. Clearly not cleaned prior to renting room. I mentioned that the room was cold to which he offered a box heater to take the chill off in the air. By this point I was looking for hidden cameras because I wasn't sure what to think. When I got in the shower the water was forced out like being sprayed with a garden hose!! The room was very outdated. Lastly we are early risers. We could not get out of the building!! Literally locked in!! My b/f was banging on the office door, the restaurant door, and the door to go to parking lot! It was crazy! I called the office and Noone answered. After about 10 minutes. We were going to call police and the owner came out. His response to us telling him we were locked in was OH! We couldn't get out fast enough. Very disappointing.

Waitresses were nice. Steaks were terrible, somehow cooked to the right temperature yet tough as leather and absolutely no seasoning at all.

None of the food had any seasoning. Sautéed mushrooms were the only good items.

I wish we could have tried this establishment under the old ownership. We always heard good things.

No need to give a second chance here.

Dinner was delicious!
The pork chop was butter soft full of flavor and cooked perfectly! The scalloped potatoes what a treat to see home made offered on a menu! Plus Brussels spouts perfectly cooked! Hubby chose a flat iron steak cooked perfectly for him rare, he loves his meat rare. Another delicious flavorful cut of beef. Huge meals and a very reasonable price! Did I say NEW OWNERS? Clean Clean Clean! Coudersport don’t miss this treat, I was pleasantly surprised! Hubby has been eating here for a couple of years now bragging when he rides his ATV.

We checked in at 10pm.  After we put our things inside, we left to eat and then go star gazing. We returned around 1am. The manager said the office was closed at 10:30.

It was awful, and not just the room, but management as well. While confronting this with management the following day, we were blamed for the issues.

First, the room was freezing with no heat. The manager blamed us for not being there between 10:30pm and 1am so he could install a heater. He was supposed to be done for the night, but somehow we were supposed to be there so he could install the heater. So beware. Apparently, he wants to go in everyone's room after 10 and install heaters... it also has a themastat that he confirmed doesn't work. So it's pointless to even have

Second, there was no cold water. Since he just installed a water heater, we somehow were supposed to know that we need to run the water for 15 to have hot water. So that was our fault too.

To top it off, I found a dead stink bug on the bed, and there wasn’t any toilet paper. But since we didn't call, that was our fault.  And we were supposed to know he lived above the office, so everything could have been taken care of last night.

We stayed there in January, in the middle of the deep freeze that hit Pennsylvania. The owner is very polite, had several conversations with him. He was very accommodating to out requests. The food and staff at the steak house aaaaaere excellent. The decor was nice, and the rooms were warm, clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay there again.

Laurelwood Inn was nice. We stayed here for 1 night on our way through Coudersport to star gaze at Cherry Springs, which is about a 15min drive away. The hotel served its purpose, a place to sleep and shower. At first we looked at the outdated decor and thought ugh, but it didn't take long for us to describe it as cutesy! The beds are very comfy! If I am in the area again I would stay here. The front desk staff was pleasant.
We ate at the steakhouse and it was very good. Nice portions and good prices. The restaurant staff was very friendly. The restaurant also has a bar, TVs and has nice small town charm. If I were passing through the area and didn't need to stay at the hotel, I'd eat at the steakhouse again!
We were pleased with our stay.
