This is a great way to spend a summer day with the whole family. You can choose to tube, canoe or kayak. The rental prices are very reasonable and I was happy to get my kids and a couple of their friends out of the house during COVID restrictions. We highly recommend both locations. Tip: Do not attempt to take your phone without a waterproof container.

No better way to spend Memorial Day than floating down the river. My children loved every min of it. The workers are super nice and I can't wait to get back there and go again!

The man that I took to be the owner or manager was very kind and helpful. The trip down the river was calm and peaceful. I only have two complaints.
1) When signed up for the 10 mile excursion we were asked to pick out our paddles. Being 6’2” and an experienced paddler I found a longer one. When we got to the drop off we were all given short paddles. It wasn’t a big deal but why ask us to pick out paddles if those are not the ones we are given when dropped off.
2) When we came in the workers and the manager were sitting on the porch of the intake building. It would have been nice to have been greeted and helped. I know this is small but little things like that go a long way.

The guy running it was very friendly. He told us the two hour was probably long enough for us and he was right. Easy parking. Within five minutes we were on our way up river. It is a great float! Beautiful!!

I came here after first trying the other rental place around the corner, who basically blew me off and said that they couldn’t do anything for me because i “thought” i wanted a double kayak (which is what we are used to using on lakes). I was sure our “adventure day” was ruined until i decided to stop at cook first canoe rental. The guy at the desk actually took time to ask questions and explained that while they did have a few double kayaks, he highly recommended a single for us in this environment.

I truly appreciate the fact that the staff took the time to determine the best solution for my situation. We had a great time and will definitely be back!

Friendly service with quality canoe! We were floating down the river in no time. Note there is a big difference between low and high tide. The red fiberglass canoe fared better than the aluminum on the rocks during low tide. Have fun!

Only place to go in the Cook Forest area. Good service. Fiberglass not clanky metal canoes. Can bring a cooler or small grill. And picnic along the way
