I had the absolute misfortune of staying at the Chester Hotel and Conference Center at 815 North Pottstown Pike, Building A, Exton, PA, during a recent business trip. Unfortunately, I had no choice but to book here due to limited last-minute availability elsewhere. This was, without a doubt, the worst hotel experience I have ever had.

Filthy & Run-Down:
The entire place is dingy, outdated, and reeks of weed from the moment you step in. The carpets look like they haven’t been cleaned in years, and the walls are stained. The elevator and front desk area smell like someone pissed all over, making it unbearable to even pass through.

Disgusting Rooms:
The bedding felt unwashed, the bathroom was worse than a roadside gas station, and the shower was so grimy I refused to step in without flip-flops. Despite multiple requests at the front desk, they **never cleaned the room**—not even basic tidying or trash removal. They have a ridiculous policy where room cleaning is only offered after three days, which is completely unacceptable for a hotel.

No Basic Amenities:
They do not provide towels upon request, and the lack of housekeeping means you're stuck with whatever mess accumulates. Even getting extra toilet paper was a challenge.

Rude, Unhelpful Staff:
The front desk staff was unbothered and dismissive, and any request for essentials was met with indifference. They clearly do not care about guest experience.

Unhygienic and Unsafe:
The hallways smelled of cigarette smoke and marijuana. The elevator was dirty, and the entire place just had an uncomfortable, sketchy vibe.

This hotel is an absolute joke, and I regret every second I spent here. The conditions were so bad that I left midway through my stay and found another place at extra cost—that’s how terrible it was.

DO NOT book this hotel unless you enjoy filth, rude service, and a complete lack of amenities. I wouldn’t stay here again if they paid me.

Positive: The rate was affordable and there was plenty of parking. Negative: In terms of cleanliness and quality, this was definitely the worst room I have ever stayed in. Visible food (I hope it was food) stuck to the walls. Lamps, doors, were dilapidated. Smelled like cigarettes.

If I could give negative stars I would give -5. This place is awful. Super sketchy. I don’t even wanna take my shoes off in this place. Don’t stay here if you’re traveling with children or if you’re traveling for work. Lots of moderately priced places close by. This place is nasty dirty. Stains and cigarette burns on everything. Nothing works. Just a total bummer.

They call this place a conference center? The last business conference in this establishment probly took place in the late 70s. On the bright side this place has the potential to be a great crust punk venue. Management if you’re reading this, you strongly consider having punk rock shows in your “conference room.”

Guy at the front desk was friendly, for the two seconds it took to check in and out. Unfortunately that does not forgive all the other chaos going on at this place during the night. This place is not a normal hotel. It is mostly drug addicts and people who hastily book a room because of cheap rates and deceptive photos on google.

Positive: Fridge worked well.Travel-sized Lotion, soaps, and shampoo were offered. Negative: Cocroaches, filth, uncleanliness, power outlets dont work, no chair at the desk, mattresses were horrible, shower head didnt work correctly, air conditioner weak.

Hotel is very cheap, trashy and unprofessional… a lot of drug addiction going on. Regulars get treated as if they’ve never seen them before. Even the ones that are respectful and take a double bed when they booked a king. I had a double bed room for almost a week when I payed for a king!!! DO NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE WHO ARE REGULARS ESPECIALLY YOUNG COUPLES. They treat you with zero respect as a repeat customer. Found drugs in my room before, broken lights, tvs don’t work properly. Overall this hotel is very picky and choosy who they will help and allow a discounted price to. Even the ones that clean the rooms before leaving and not giving hosuekeeping too much work! The worst hotel when it comes to respecting repeat customers. The whole floor smells of marijuana and cigarettes.

When we arrived we were given the wrong room. When we finally got the right room. The walls were empty, no decor. No matching lamps. THE SHOWER DID NOT WORK!! After our night out when we came back to the hotel we took the back entrance and stumbled upon a drunk man lying in front of a room passed out! And upon coming to our room our key cards were not working so we had to get them readjusted. The lady up front was just being rude saying we shouldn’t be putting the key cards with your phone. Like how were we supposed to know?!! Overall was just uncomfortable the whole stay. For the price of the hotel its just better getting some a bit more expensive.
