The entrance to this concert hall is at the corner of University Ave and High Street. There is paid street parking around this building the building's outside is very beautiful, but when you go inside the concert hall, it is dated and plain. The seats are very tight together, so think twice before selecting a seat beside an unknown stranger. I did overhear another attendee, who is about 5' 8", say that there isn't much leg room for her, so for people that tall and taller, you might want to consider getting the seats with no immediate row in front of it, or one that has an empty seat beside it, so uou can sit diagonally.

An older venue, but a great local theater. I don't think that there could be a bad seat in the house. Everyone in the staff was courteous and helpful. I found parking in the area easily, which is always a plus. Also, it is close enough to downtown to walk for a drink & meal, either before or after a show.

I was a parent volunteer for a high school theatre conference that was hosted at West Chester University. My kids were in a play at this particular venue. The event management staff were absolutely fantastic with helping with the load in, set up, and load out of the large set pieces used for the play. Thank you to the entire team there!

The Emilie K. Asplundh Concert Hall, located on the campus of West Chester University, stands as a testament to the university’s dedication to the arts. Originally opened in 1927, it is the largest performing arts venue on campus, with a seating capacity of 1,202. Named after Emilie K. Asplundh, an alumna from the class of 1927, the hall was revitalized through her generous contributions towards the renovation of the Philips Building and its concert hall. The extensive refurbishment from 1998 to 2000 has modernized the facility while preserving its historical significance. Situated at the intersection of South High Street and University Ave., the concert hall’s grand archway leads to a space where students and visitors alike can enjoy a rich array of performances.

I remembered this as Swope Hall, but I'm not sure when they changed the name. Saw the nutcracker here. View and acoustics were good. The seats were a little tight. Long bathroom lines and no concessions.

Wonderful place! Rented this for our graduation ceremony 5 times now and have a wonderful experience every time. The staff are great to work with and the venue is perfect. Also close to downtown West Chester which is great for guests once the ceremony is over. Also I love that the Quad is right behind the building for our family is to enjoy once the ceremony is over as well.
