My review of my stay at the Holiday Inn Express - Harrisburg East by IHG.
(02/26/25) My family and I stayed for one night. Thankfully!
Where to start, I understand that I booked with a 3rd party site, hotels.com. However I don't feel that the service we were given should of been that terrible.

The man who checked us in was rude, cold and probably not have a job where customer service and satisfaction should be a priority.
I handed him my license as well as my service dog prescription.
He had a issue even looking for rooms for us.
I walked to the car, got my dog, as I was walking by he hollered across the lobby about me owing $50 for a pet fee. No sir, service dogs are not to be charged extra.
He said he didn't realize that I had one, I said sir what do you think I gave you a copy of his license for.... Pay attention and ask questions appropriate. It's really okay to.

We reserved 2 rooms, of course even with children we still were put on 2 different floors. This might not of been a problem if our one room door lock worked, and we were able to use a key to open it. We had to wait for someone to open the door any time we had to leave the room.

The other room we were in was definitely not the cleanest, I understand after hearing the cleaning lady fighting on the phone with someone the next morning, that was pretty loud, considering she was in the hall and cleaning room 422 and we were in room 419..

I also couldn't use the phone to communicate with the other adult with the broken lock because of course my phone didn't work.

Breakfast was eh, they ran out of everything by 8:20, and nothing was replaced.

All in all I think they are way under staffed, and the ones that are working need a bit of a refresher course with hospitality and tourism.

All in all not impressed, over charged for a filthy hotel that's not even functioning properly. Who rents a room no one can even get in.

I have stayed here twice in the past year. I have this hotel to be a great value. Great night rate for what you get. Its clean and staff is very friendly. The room is spacious and the bed is so comfortable. They even have a mini gym and full breakfast buffet with delicious hot cinnamon buns.

I've stayed at this Holiday Inn Express several times. It's always been 'fine,' as Holiday Inn Express' go. I use hotel gyms and this one is okay, but the same issues remain as the last time I stayed there. The water is empty...always. There are no wipes to clean equipment and there are several missing dumbbells. Holiday Inn Express gyms are all essentially set up the same way; I stay in them all the time. Dumbbells come in sets and there are several missing. Not the end of the world, but annoying. The lack of water and cleaning wipes is more irritating.

As for my stay this time, I'm not too happy. I think there are people who live at this hotel now. People are up all night long on their phones, on speaker, walking up and down the halls, doors slamming - and televisions on ridiculously loud. This has never happened before at this place. I will give it a try again next time, but if the problems persist, I'll go to another Holiday Inn Express. I hope there aren't people living at this hotel on the tax payer dime; sad for Pennsylvania if that's the case. When you travel for work, you need sleep to work and when you don't sleep, you get grumpy.

I will say the staff are very nice. The front desk folks are responsive, friendly and helpful. I like them.

The lady at the front desk was very friendly at check in. I was recognized as a IHG member. Rooms were clean and smelled good. Temperature of room was nice and warm and since it was cold outside that was a good thing. TV worked great, bathroom was clean. Breakfast was good in morning and breakfast host did a great job. Would definitely recommend this hotel

The hotel was excellent. The staff was friendly and kind. One gentleman who was picking up trash in the parking lot asked me if I enjoyed my stay. We chatted for a little bit. He went above and beyond what I would expect of a groundskeeper. This was true of each individual. Great place to stay.

The staff was amazing to me & my son. Went above and beyond! Jose & Elizabeth could not have been any nicer! And they both did NOT HAVE TO BE! They helped me out because they are just very good people. They made my stay! I think it's very apparent that Cheryl has a great staff of great people who care, especially in Elizabeth & Jose!

Everything was great during my stay. The staff, especially Wanda, was very friendly and supportive!! The room was inviting and comfy!! The complimentary breakfast had a great selection and the food was delicious, especially the biscuits and gravy! And the hotel is located perfectly with a lot of stores and restaurants very close!

Very happy with our stay! Clean, very spacious, comfortable King bed with Keurig, fridge, microwave, sofa, closet, safe, desk with rolling chair and tiltable tv for better viewing from any seat or bed. Extra bonus was all Dove products for my sensitive skin. Loved the wide breakfast assortment--favorite of all was the Cinnamon rolls! Great stay!
