As Thunderhawk celebrates its remarkable 100th anniversary in 2024, it stands as a testament to timeless thrill-seeking. This wooden coaster at Dorney Park offers an acceptable ride experience, albeit with some quirks.

The journey begins with a rough start, especially during colder weather, which might deter some riders initially. However, for those who brave through, a reward awaits at the back row - decent airtime that adds an extra element of excitement to the ride.

While Thunderhawk may not boast the smoothness of newer coasters, its age contributes to its charm and appeal. Riding this coaster feels like stepping back in time, experiencing the thrills that have delighted generations of amusement park enthusiasts.

In conclusion, Thunderhawk may not be the flashiest or most advanced wooden coaster, but its longevity and enduring appeal make it a must-ride for anyone visiting Dorney Park. Here's to another century of exhilarating rides on Thunderhawk!

The best thing about this coaster is being able to walk through it. Otherwise it's rough with little payoff for the pain. If you must ride, try to get the middle seat of a train car (so rows 2,5,8, or 11) as those will be a it smoother

Seats were very tight hardly any arm space, ride was very clunky, some of the drops were nice but you are jostled around quite a bit takes you out of the experience. If going to Dorney for the first time would definitely recommend everyone has a different experience mine wasn’t the best but would still recommend.

Very historical, but the ride itself isn't anything special.

Whatever dorney did during the off season, it worked. This ride isn’t as brain damaging as it was before and it is a bit smoother of a ride while keeping that rustic wooden coaster feel. If you go to dorney though, this one isn’t a must ride and if the line is too long it is ok to skip.

EDIT: came back this weekend and my head throbbed after riding so the roughness depends on how full the train is.

This is a fun little wooden coaster and I'm glad it's still around. Not too rough, looks nice, and has decent airtime and laterals. I'd give it 5 stars if it weren't for the trim brakes at the end that take away speed for the last bunny hills. Still a good time and worth a ride.
