Absolutely amazing!! I’ve ridden all my life and my boyfriend wanted to take a swing at riding so I found Sheeder Mill and decided to do a trail ride for our anniversary. I rode Bam Bam and he rode Maggie. Absolute sweethearts the both of them. We went a a small trail with Julianne before going on a bigger one with Jamie. Both were amazing trail guides and did a wonderful job with teaching the basics and helping us out.

Will definitely come back!

I have been coming here since the early '80's. You won't find a stable that takes better care of their horses. Riders of all levels will have a great time riding on the beautiful trails.

My family and I recently went to Sheeder Mill Farm for a picnic trail ride + campfire on the second weekend of March. We absolutely loved it and plan on returning! Many of the trail rides near the site we were vacationing at didn't open until late March, but Sheeder Mill is available at all times except extreme weather! It was very much worth the stop in our travels. Our biggest commendation was how well they treated their animals. All areas were clean (no awful odors!), all animals on the farm looked healthy and taken care of, and the staff (from the eldest to the youngest little Reese) were so sweet, knowledgeable, and genuinely loved their animals. They gave great instruction, didn't baby us but made sure the horses were safe and happy. If you're debating doing the picnic ride, I highly recommend it! Make sure the bags are easily carried, but it is actually the staff that will drop off your food for you. And with the campfire, it was the perfect end for a crisp day. The picnic area also has a little swing perfect for photo opportunities, and they let you pull out your phone in the creek and will take a picture for you (definitely bring a case/wristlet to make sure your device doesn't fall out of your hands!) We're already planning another trip with more family members, highly highly recommend!

Experience: I really enjoyed my time at Sheeder Mill Farm! I went with a group of 10 friends - who had various riding experiences - for a 45-minute horseback trail ride. The trail was beautiful; we went through the woods, up and down hills until we got to a creek where our horses were able to take a water break. Going in the Fall was perfect because there was picturesque foliage throughout our trail path.

Customer Service: I am very much a beginner when it comes to riding horses, so I was happy that the trainers reinforced proper techniques for reign holding and leg/foot positioning. They also made me feel comfortable by offering protective helmets and the ability to have my horse attached by rope to the more advanced rider in front of me.

Tips: Try to wear sneakers you don’t mind getting muddy and cargo pants with pockets so that you can keep items like your cell phone secure.

This was an absolutely fantastic experience. I brought my niece(9) and nephew(11)for a 45 minute trail ride with Jamie leading us. She completely surpassed my expectations and tailored to experience to our ability level.

Jamie taught us how to steer, stop, and reverse the horses, let us practice, and checked in on our confidence before getting out onto the trail. She gave us feedback the entire ride to help our form and answered our questions about the horses and about riding. She tethered my niece and kept her side by side until she was comfortable enough to trail behind her. (The kids told their mom every detail Jamie taught with us when we got home!)

The trail was a gorgeous route through the woods along water and included ascends and descends. The kids had such a blast that they want to go back and try going a little faster.(Despite being nervous when we arrived- which shows how great the instruction was.) She wasn’t rushed to get us out on the ride, she was invested in teaching to ride correctly and safely. The horses were beautiful and clearly well cared for. I could not recommend this farm enough. We can’t wait to come back.

*Thank you for taking a group a photo of us!!

This was the PERFECT trail riding experience! Even for beginners, especially for an 8 year old little girl! This was the first time I had seen guides take riders in a small arena and teach the basics of riding and how your legs and feet should be positioned. This wasn't a 'get on your horse and ride and good luck to you' trail ride.
The horses are WELL CARED for and loved. Proper mount and dismount of your horse is expect, which is via step platform. None of the horses appeared to be thin as I have often times witnessed. During our trail ride, none of the horses 'misbehaved' as I have experienced with prior trail rides. It was a SUPERB first time experience for my 8 year old niece. The staff was first class. Our guides Lindsey and Jill were awesome! I highly recommend Sheeder Mill Farm.
