I’ve stayed here before in the past and didn't have the best experience. I must say, things have improved. Guest service feels like guest services. They have removed the carpets and put in flooring. Painted and refurbished the room that I’m in. No cigarette smells inside the room. I'm impressed. Cant beat it for the price. 👍

Maintenance walks the property up next to the doors starting at 8am with a leaf blower. If your used to sleeping past that or work a 2nd or 3rd shift best be prepared. Other than that it was fine. Often the powerful odor of Marijuana floating through the building but not the worst thing in the world I guess.

My partner and I lived her for 2 years and I wish we had stayed at a different hotel from the beginning..it is the cheapest in Decatur but I cannot even begin to describe the amount of horrible things that happened to us while we stayed here. We eventually stayed at Inntown suites. The staff there are AMAZING and so kind. They have helped us so many times when we had any issues. They have rooms that are remodeled, clean, and nice. When the AC broke they replaced the entire thing. My partner and I finally got into an apartment after staying there for a few months. I met some very nice people there and they have a pool they converted to saltwater, and a hangout and picnic area. My mental health was saved by Inntown and I'm so thankful for them. I am not thankful for stay lodge 😭 they were so unkind and hateful towards us and we were almost always at work! 0/10 experience my guy

I stayed at the Stay Lodge for a few weeks from the beginning it started off rocky I came on a Sunday the day there closed I was told the key will be in a particular spot and it was not so I called the maintenance person that was posted on the window he immediately told me a lie and said that there were no rooms available not knowing that I am supposed to be at this hotel, and before I called him, I looked in my room first through the window. I finally got in touch with Tracy who started off nice but few days into my stay i seen her true colors and turned into a witch. The incident that happened was that a classmate, and I was standing outside, studying. She walked up and told us that we were not supposed to be outside
Hanging out only to come out our rooms to smoke and go back in the room she then questioned my classmate to see if he was just hanging out at the hotel and asked him what room he was in. He told her that he was supposed to be there. Then she told us we had to go back in our rooms. There's no hanging out my classmate, then told her on the people hang out on the backside drinking and smoking. She was not understanding so we both went into our own rooms. In a couple minutes later I go to the office to get some toilet paper. She asked me for my my classmates name to make sure he was on the list and gave me the rules of the hotel not knowing that I also seen people hanging out in the back drinking and smoking so then she wanted to tell me about the reason why they don't have people hanging out is because somebody got shot 12 years ago that's why people cannot hang out or study outside. The man was very nice and cool. I would never stay at this place again it's like being at a free world prison.If you do you get 305 the neighbor on the right lives there he has his TV loud as hell I had to say to him about the the TV he said, it helps him sleep at night. The people who live in 405, which is above you that have kids that are left unattended a lot stomp on the floor all day and night if you get 305 you will not get no sleep at all. I am Mark. I had a iron mark on the floor and the couch looks like they found it on the side of the road. The Econo is around the corner and it is definitely better than the Stay Lodge. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Gentlemen was nice enough to save me a room working from out of town.
Sitting outside drinking a beer, he proclaims police can arrest you on private property for open container.
After 12 hrs working, got in, sitting on tailgate, ask me turn truck around from being back up due to health codes violations. Told him I'd turn around in a minute. Went got shower, chilling a minute. 8:30 at night, still in my underwear, he knocking on door for me turn truck around.
Control freak he is. Fresh painted rooms, 30 yr old carpet. Room service only once a week. Get your own towels every 2 days after working 12 hrs a day.
Having paid up 1 extra day to finish job, had an emergency & didn't stay. No better way to say, "I'm a thief than No Refunds."

I liked it; place for long term and short..... Customer service is great... The maintenance guy is wonderful and hard working. I enjoyed my time there with my son and boyfriend due to transition. I would refer a friend but don't have many in Alabama. I think the prices can be cheaper but other than that is great. I lived there for a min... Never saw commotions... Cameras everywhere so your car and you poverty I surveillance at all times.

Tracy front desk was so very nice and personal. Her presentation of the overall stay would be great. Office was so festive like home smelled awesome every time I want. The whole staff was absolutely wonderful. I wish them Happy Holidays❤

-Customer service good, provide info of the area upon request, remind you when it's your rent pay day. Daily, weekly, and monthly rates are fair.
-Grounds are clean everyday.
-Maintenance takes care of things as quick as they can.
-Laundry facility on site (no laundry vending machines, but stores are nearby)
-Vending machines for snacks are in laundry room, for sodas under stairs.
-Internet provided, though download speeds are slow, router resets every few hours, requires you to reconnect devices after reset.
-AC units are kept in good shape.
-Trouble makers are removed from premises (example; people partying late at night, excessive littering, removing other people's laundry from machines mid wash to wash your own without paying)
-Simple rooms, tv, kitchen with sink provided. (No couch in my room, other rooms have couches, tv is too high to watch comfortably)

Issues:
-Previous tenants smoked indoors, cigarette residue comes out of paint when room is steamed. (Requires deep cleaning)
-Walls are thin so you can hear your neighbours, but it sounds muffled. (Can use sound muffling foam, won't help when people slam doors shut, can hear every step you 2nd floor neighbour makes above you)
-Carpets we're dirty when I first arrived, black cigarette residue inside of toilet bowl, cigarette stain on seats, toilet caulking has come loose. (Needs deep cleaning, new caulking and new seat)

Overall, decent place to stay.

Update/edit: In my attempt to get an auto-pay set up for the weekly room, me and my roommate were treated rudely by the front desk female clerk, we walked away and came a half hour later and she behaved like nothing had happened. Not sure what happened there but it was unprofessional.

Previous ac unit was replaced with an older model, not pretty but it works without issue, could use some cleaning.

Wifi has been constantly disconnecting after a few minutes of being connected. Front desk clerk unsure what's going on.

Requested for minor maintenance to be done in my room, was told it would be fixed the next day. One month later, still not fixed. (Noting this here in case security deposit is taken.)
