I came to Decatur for a conference and the Double Tree was the hotel the organizers had arranged for a room block. It worked out very nicely. My room had a couple of maintenance issues but they were very minor. The conditioner bottle holder had come loose from the shower wall and there was only one side of the curtains that had the white privacy curtain (room 515). The breakfast buffet was quite good and covered by the $15 Hilton Honors credit if you have that benefit with your membership. Even if not it’s well worth the price which includes tax. With online check in and keyless access to my room, interactions with staff were minimal but warm and friendly when they occurred. Likewise the woman taking care of the breakfast was friendly and attentive making sure everyone had what they needed. They didn’t have decaf set up in the coffee dispensers, so she had some prepared for me specially. I wouldn’t call this a luxury property by any means but I was very pleased with my stay and it fit the bill perfectly.

Definitely NOT by the river; there's a street and buildings in between. The front of the hotel is on a very busy street. Our room, where the micro/fridge is housed, had a different colored door, not even close to the existing cupboards. To top it off, the doors wouldn't even close tight without messing with them. The restaurant on premises was definitely expensive for what we got. The breakfast buffet was good with many choices. But the dinner prices was overpriced for sure. And the road noise wasn't pleasant while trying to sleep. It is not worth the per night charges.
Next trip to the are, I will be looking for other accommodations.

We stayed at this hotel to attend a family funeral. While the hotel décor is nice and the breakfast was delicious, the traffic noise ALL night was unbearable. There were loud, large truck braking for the traffic light nearby at all hours. I scarlessly slept. I want to share in an effort to help others avoid this. I was already emotionally drained from the death of a family member then to add no sleep, it made the experience even worse.

The hotel is beautiful.. could be a really great place if they actually enforced the rules they say they have. Quiet time.. no birthday parties.. no glass in pool. First night we were woken up about 1230 with screaming yelling laughing..drunken adults. We tried calling front desk over 10 times.. called hotel number 6 times.. sent chat messages in app with no replies.. this noise went on till at least 3am..I did bring to front desk attention that next morning. Then second day..(keep in mind i brought my 7 and 8 year old granddaughters for their birthdays for special attention with my youngest adult daughter) couldn't use pool because about noon a pool birthday party was going on with at least 30 people.. balloons cake beer bottles drunk adults wild children so I told girls we would go when they left.. they were there till about 6pm. I finally took girls only to find a couple making out.. doing shots and drinking beer in bottles.. I sent chat to front desk but no one replied also notified them about party but nothing happened..but remember I was clearly told NO BIRTHDAY PARTY.. NO EXCEPTION. THAT NIGHT again after 1230am we were all awoken by drunken adults but this time front desk answered.. and their reply was not sure what they could do but they will try. It's a shame cause I would really love to bring my whole family back because it's a beautiful place nice rooms great food and quaint nice bar. And still no manager has called me. We were there This last Friday and Saturday nights (Feb 21st..22nd) Very very disappointed and the dome area smelled like cigarettes really really badly. And they made no attempt to make it right.

I’ve stayed here 1/2 dozen times. All hotel stays will have some kind of problems sooner or later. This hotel goes above and beyond to rectify any problems. It is obvious that The management and staff go the extra mile to make your stay a pleasant one. Pleasing guest and Customer service are a priority.

The cookie was good, the room well... walk into a room with no air, 84 degrees outside, 80 inside! Had to interrupt the desk clerk for help.. bathroom 2 towels, lotion empty bottle, in need of a refresh, it took half the night to cool down the room.. well pass next time!

Breakfast buffet is always the best. We have stayed here numerous times and the restaurant for breakfast and dinner are always great. Clean rooms, ample parking. . Close to shopping, and near the interstate/ I-65, 565, Athens, Madison and easy access to Huntsville.

This hotel did not live up to the Doubletree name in any way except the price. It was quite high for what you get. The wallpaper was peeling in the bathroom, there was dirt around the edges of the floor, and the toilet paper holder was broken. The housekeeping service is nearly non-existent. If you need more towels, which you do because they don't put enough in your room for the number of guests, you have to walk through the odd hotel layout to get them yourself...they're not bringing them to your room. The pool was not running when we went in there and there was a film over the top of the water. The staff was mostly friendly but more than once they were very preoccupied with what was happening on their computer screens and took time to acknowledge us. I do not recommend this hotel.
