I wasn't sure if this is open or not and what the deal is, but I arrived at a quiet time. One of the "conductors" gave me a nice tour of the museum and the repair shop which was pretty awesome to see one of the trolleys being restored. Yes, the place smells like cat pee but they have a lot of cats here and I think that's okay.

And then the trolley came back to the station where I boarded, paid my "fare" and had a nice little ride around some of downtown Fort Smith. It's pretty cool and the trolley driver pointed out a few of the sites as he dinged the bell and crossed a few streets in a completely safe manner. This was pretty awesome and as a "big kid", I loved it!

This was a fun time and I'm really pleased to have found this little spot.

Not a terrible place but deffinitely could be better. The trolley couldn't go around very far so that was disappointing. Otherwise friendly people. The building they have to work on the trollys is messy and there are cats around both the shop building and the museum. Not the cleanest in the museum either. Interesting experience if you are around. Wish they would get everything fixed so the trolly ride would be longer.

The weather was perfect for walking around outside this museum. There were several kinds of trains from different eras.

There are several cars to look at the view of the Arkansas River was nice. You can literally see Oklahoma on the other side of the bank.

There are cats in the area. They have collars and looks well-fed. The national historic museum is not too far, too!

Robert was really enthusiastic and sweet. He has an indebt knowledge on the town's fascinating history. He even let my bonus kid drive the trolley! Shot out to all the resident cats, especially Doodlebug!

This was the weirdest museum experience I've ever had. Cats everywhere and the inside smelled like extreme cat pee!! We turned around and left. I'm assuming the people hanging out inside were homeless? My recommendation is for Someone to come in and rescue the cats, charge who ever is responsible for cruelty to animals and decide if they want it to be a homeless shelter or a museum.
