The Comedy Attic is a stellar local venue for a night out, from headliners to open mic nights.

I feel like most of these 1-star reviews are from people who have never been to another comedy club before. All comedy clubs are tightly packed and have an item order minimum. If that's not your thing, know that up front.

Unlike most comedy clubs, their 2 item minimum includes food and they have a variety of non-alcoholic drinks in addition to the bar, making it sober-friendly. You don't go to the Comedy Attic for the food or drinks, but it's passable quality and not more expensive than anywhere else.

It's also not nearly as packed as some comedy clubs are, where the audience is quite literally chair-to-chair, which I greatly appreciate. It's also very clean.

Wish I could give a bonus star for the way the club handles comedians with bigoted material. I was there tonight for open mic, and after one comic said a racist joke, he was immediately removed off stage and his whole group left shortly after. Once they were gone, we collectively boo-ed them. Good riddance! I LOVE that the Comedy Attic backs their words with action.

Owner asks staff/comics write 5 star reviews. An article recently came out with the IDS about how this is an unsafe environment for young women. There is also no ramp/elevator. This place has never been wheelchair accessible. Be careful!

A tip for first-timers: book tickets in advance, as shows often sell out quickly. Also, be ready for the classic two-item minimum, which is typical for comedy clubs. It’s worth every penny for the entertainment you get.

During my visit, I had a fantastic time enjoying a hilarious performance from a talented comic. The intimate setting made the experience even better—no bad seats, and you feel close to the action. The crowd was lively, and the energy in the room was contagious. I also appreciated the friendly staff and quick service at the bar. The drinks were reasonably priced, and the overall vibe was fun and laid-back.

This place is more than just a comedy club—it’s a space for laughter, good times, and unforgettable performances. Whether you’re on a date, out with friends, or just looking for a night of fun, it’s a must-see in Bloomington.

We were just there watching the final round one night of The Bloomington Comedy Festival 16 on July 10 & 11, 2024. We loved the venue and our waitresses were amazing both nights. We had so much fun.

Each time I go to the comedy attic it is so much fun. I am glad to have the experience with my friends at this place. Service is always great and the laughs are never ending

I'm so lucky to live near this venue. It's got great ambience--the tight space is so cozy. I've seen some great famous comedians here, but even the local talent is fantastic. The emcees always do a great warm-up set, and they are often the highlight of the show! Customer service and management are great. Staff is friendly. I'd come here a lot more often if I weren't on a grad student budget.

I love that food orders can count towards the common "2 item purchase" policy, since I don't drink alcohol. However, the food can be incredibly overpriced. It’s an unfortunate reality of the comedy business, since concessions are a major part of any venue’s income. I just wish it were a less memorable part of my experience.

All in all, I love Comedy Attic. I always recommend it to friends and visitors. If you're reading this, go see a show there!
