I was searching for a great massage therapist in Novato and ended up discovering something far beyond my expectations, Fire And Ice Therapy Spa. From my very first call, I was impressed. I spoke directly with the owner and founder, Jim McAlpine, who was incredibly informative and clearly passionate about his business. His enthusiasm made me even more excited to book my first visit.

I scheduled a massage and a session in the float/sensory deprivation tank, something I had always been curious about but slightly hesitant to try. Upon arrival, Jim gave me a tour of the spa, and I was immediately drawn to the calm, inviting atmosphere. My massage was absolutely incredible, and the float tank experience was deeply relaxing. Even as someone who can be a bit claustrophobic, I felt completely at ease.

A few days later, I returned for a Fire and Ice session, bringing my husband along. The private room was perfectly set up with everything we needed, towels, robes, and bottled water. The experience of moving between the sauna, cold plunge, and showers was both exhilarating and deeply rejuvenating. Afterward, I explored the recovery lounge, where I got to use their selection of compression and relaxation tools, including a leg compression system and an eye mask massager, pure bliss!

The facility is spotless, well, maintained, and has such a welcoming vibe. Whether you’re looking for relaxation, muscle recovery, or a unique wellness experience, Fire And Ice Therapy Spa is an absolute must-visit. I can’t recommend it highly enough!

Our first visit was amazing. Paul had answered our endless questions even before we arrived, and was just as gracious in person. We did the sauna and cold plunge and loved it. One tip, as you rinse off before going into the cold plunge use warm water! It helps to not lose the body heat generated from the sauna. After our final plunge, we followed up with the compression treatment on your legs. So relaxing in the comfy chair, and a good massage. We left feeling much better than how we arrived.,

I went in for an hour long float in the sensory deprivation tank, and I really enjoyed the experience. I’ve been waiting years to try one and to now have the opportunity in Novato is really exciting. First let me say the facility itself is totally beautiful and everything in there is top of the line, as well as clean and just classy af. The owner Jimmy gave me a full tour, showing me the plunge/sauna rooms, the massage room, the lounge area, shower room- I took a shower before and after the float and it was super nice, private, and made me feel really comfortable, It’s obvious Jimmy is passionate about his business and takes great care of it and wants you to feel confident and informed about his place. Each room was nice, the vibes are relaxing and the equipment is high end. The float itself is kind of personal to anyone who does it- but my experience was great. I had some serious meditation time in there. Salt water floating is a very interesting sensation.. each person I think will experience it differently.
Overall I was really impressed with the whole thing, and would like to come back for more floats and other services. I really can’t say enough how nice the owner is too.

I was a bit nervous about my first ice bath, but I decided to give Fire and Ice in Novato a try—and I’m so glad I did! Walking out of their new location, I felt absolutely incredible. The atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and impeccably clean.
The staff was fantastic, taking the time to explain the benefits of both heat and cold therapy and providing clear guidance for my first session. My husband and I shared the larger room and took advantage of both the infrared sauna with red light therapy and the ice bath. It was an amazing experience! We both felt completely refreshed and can’t wait to return soon.
If you’re on the fence about trying contrast therapy, I highly recommend Fire and Ice—they made the whole process seamless and enjoyable!

What a great space! Easy to get to location in Novato ( I come from Petaluma) Jim and his staff are super cool and out going.
The sauna with red light therapy was so nice. They're also offering cold plunge and they have huge rooms with showers.
I saw Mikaela for stretch therapy, she is an excellent body worker and I find a sauna before the stretch really helped she and I get deeper in each move.
Can't say enough great things.i felt amazing and rejuvenated when i left.
I'll be back for a float and a massage!

Fire and ice is an amazing therapy/recovery facility in novato, super sleek relaxing rooms and kept very clean! The owner jim is very helpful/kind and is a super cool guy 🤙🤙 if you are an athlete looking for workout recovery, someone looking to relax and enjoy some self care , or even someone looking to help deal with chronic pain, give this place a shot! You will not be disappointed!

Fire and Ice was such a great experience. Two of my girlfriends and I decided to go for a “wellness” evening rather than the typical happy hour drinks. We rented a sauna room and cold plunge and spent 1.5 hours there. It was just what we needed. We had so much fun chatting and cheering each other on for the cold plunge, and we felt so good after. The owner is super nice and accommodating. Overall a 10/10 experience and we’ll definitely be back.

Finally, Marin has a proper contrast therapy spa! 2 of my mom friends and I were looking to escape after a long weekend of solo parenting. This was it. We booked the handicap accessible room so there was space for all 3 of us and we took turns in the cold plunge and infrared sauna. Jim was super welcoming and very informative of the many biohacking therapies in his spa. It was such a nice way to spend the evening. We will definitely be returning!
