Highly recommend! The service leading up to and the experience we had on our Channel Island kayak tour was great. Friendly service over the phone, accommodations when weather affected our travel plans and excellent crew on the island really made our experience. They worked with people of all levels in our group to make sure everyone had a great time. Pricey tour but it is definitely worth it!

We did a kayaking tour over spring break, and would highly recommend. Clay was our guide, and he was fantastic. It ended up only being our family of 4 on the tour, and he did a great job adjusting it to what my kids were interested in. He was knowledgeable, and offered opportunities for us to challenge ourselves, as well as options when the youngest wasn’t quite comfortable with something.

Communication with the company ahead of time was good, and they were great at answering questions. Our ferry was delayed as we got stopped en route with dolphins and whales swimming around us. They adjusted and we still got the full tour time. We’d definitely recommend the tour to others!

Amazing staff. Friendly, knowledgeable, and patient. We did the Kayak Adventure tour with no kayaking experience. Chuck was awesome and pretty much kept us alive. The Adventure tour is no joke for someone's first time. You will get wet and theres a good chance your falling in. We learned a lot about the island and an experience we'll remember forever.

Everything you need is included. Recommend bringing good water shoes and sunglasses you won't mind losing. Gopro if you have it. If you forget anything they have a small shop with reasonable prices.

We did the harbour kayak tour with Andre today. It was brilliant! We loved the tour, a great mix of harbour and open sea, Andre made us feel really safe and was a fantastic guide, showed us so much wildlife. We highly recommend this tour. Thank you Andre, you made it a great morning.

We tried to schedule an Adventure Sea Caves Kayak tour just a few days before the date of the trip on a holiday weekend. Tickets for the ferry were totally sold out even though tickets for the kayak tour were available. I called and left a VM to see if we could be put on a waitlist or something. Leslie called me, got us on the waitlist, and just a couple days later told us we were in!

Directions are very easy to follow. Once you’re on-island, the guides are also fantastic. Felt totally safe and prepared. They provided wetsuits, splash jackets, PFDs, and helmets. I HIGHLY recommend bringing water shoes of some kind ($20 from target) to make life a little easier and a hat for between your head and the helmet.

We tipped out of our kayak at the “boat wrecker” cave and Chuck didn’t even blink. Easily helped us back in and away we went. It was our favorite part of the trip!

They have places to store your things safely while you’re gone and changing rooms to get back into your dry clothes. If you do the longer trip starting at 1030 AM, note that you’ll probably only have time for the one quick hike (we packed a lunch and ate on the go).

We felt it was 100% worth the cost and time. Amazing memories! Would absolutely do it again and highly recommend.

Fantastic trip on the "Adventure Sea Caves Kayak Tour" which is the middle level of length/difficulty of options. Logistics were clearly communicated in advance with answers to all key questions. Process was well organized once arriving on the island. Our guide Chuck was fantastic--providing safe, expert guiding along with with detailed history and naturalist information and conservation efforts of the islands. We finished the kayaking with time for a leisurely picnic (bring your own) then a 50-60 minute hike on the bluffs with amazing views, and then a short wait for the 430 ferry. On the way back we were lucky to see several whales and the ferry captain actually diverted from our path to follow them for awhile, while she educated us about the whales as we went. A really wonderful day!

My girlfriends and I wanted to kayak in the Channel Islands as part of a girls weekend getaway. I made all the arrangements through the Santa Barbara Adventure Company. The process was easy and all the information we needed was provided. The follow up and communication was excellent in the days leading up to the trip. Once on Santa Cruz Island we were immediately greeted and escorted to the staging area where we had the option to wear wetsuits and jackets they provided. This was perfect since it was quite chilly out! Our very competent guides were John, a very seasoned pro and Gabe, a very capable young man. The kayaking experience was very memorable as we explored the waters and caves. John and Gabe shared interesting facts and stories and guided us through. I would highly recommend the trip for anyone seeking an escape to a remarkable, unique and biologically diverse island. Santa Barbara Adventure Company and Island Packers Ferry are a great combo! Be sure to leave time for hiking too!

My daughter and I recently went on the Sea Cave Kayak Adventure while visiting UC Santa Barbara, and we’re so glad we did! It was an incredible experience and a wonderful memory to share. From the very beginning, the boat ride over to Santa Cruz Island was an adventure in itself. We spotted whales along the way and enjoyed beautiful views everywhere we looked. The captain made several stops so everyone could see.

When we arrived at the island, SB Adventure had everything organized perfectly. It was a smooth, easy process to get outfitted with all the necessary gear for our time on the water, and the short walk from the dock through a lovely little valley added to the experience.

Although it was a relatively calm day, there were some swells. I appreciated the thoughtful instructions we received, which were presented in a professional manner. Kayaking in and out of the caves was a thrilling adventure. We felt confident and safe in the hands of our guide, Zack, who was a total pro. He was personable and had extensive knowledge about the island’s rich history, wildlife, and geology.

The water was clear in most areas, allowing us to see many fish, urchins, sea stars and abalone. We even saw seals resting in some of the caves, and there were more birds than I can count. After our time on the water, we had the opportunity to hike around before making the return trip, which included more whale watching.

This trip is one of those experiences that leaves you feeling exhilarated for days afterward, and I’m so glad we did it!
