We arrived after midnight and the front desk clerk was so thoughtful and nice. Our room was large, very clean and the ac was working well during this hot evening. Our beds were super comfy. The hotel was under a remodeling phase but we were not affected by their progress at all. We ate a hearty breakfast the following morning and found the hostess/cook to be very delightful and so so sweet. As we roll our FULL cart into the lobby an elderly gentleman employee offered to roll out our cart to the car. We now know chivalry is not dead! He insisted on helping us unload but we told him we needed to organize as we unloaded! We highly recommend this hotel on your way thru Monticello.

Positive: No positive comments Negative: The room had fecal material in the floor, no amenities were available. The receptionist fell asleep and was unresponsive for over an hour, the price was extremely high for the quality of our stay especially since the room we reserved doesn't exist

So this holiday inn is most definitely deserving of the two star rating. It's not up to the quality most of them are at. I'm a diamond member and stay at holiday inns about 20 days a month or more. That being said this hotel is definitely low quality

The room doesn't have lotion, hand wash, and doesn't have any amenities that most hotels do. On top of that i paid for a higher room with jetted tub and fireplace. Neither of them worked and when i asked the front desk i was told "Does it look like i work on tubs? Things sometimes dont work get over it" The breakfast wasn't available for 3 of the 4 days I stayed and on the fourth day it was extremely late. Front desk if it's past 6pm it is EXTREMELY hot in the lobby, it's like walking into a desert with the amount of heat in there.

This hotel also doesn't have the front snack concession most quality holiday inns have as well.

Overall it's slightly better than motel 6 but not by much if I'm honest.

Under remodeling construction, had I known that I would have stayed somewhere else but it was after 11 p.m. & was ready for a shower & some sleep.
Breakfast bar didn't have any forks, asked front desk clerk & she said there are spoons, knives & forks there, I told there ARE NOT ANY FORKS, so I looked for some & put them out myself.

We've definitely had better hotel experiences than this one. When making our reservation, we specifically requested a room with 2 beds. After checking in and finding out once we saw the room, the front desk told us they were booked and we could not move to another one, but that the sofa was a nice, comfortable pullout. Yeah, it was a nice, comfortable pullout, alright....a broken one. All I can truthfully say is that the air conditioner worked great, the hotel looks nice on the outside, and we were more than ready to leave after attending our weekend events.
