Excellent horses and friendly staff. Beautiful ranch and trail. The horses are very well trained, and unlike many trail rides they'll let you ride side by side and trot and not necessarily just walk single file down the trail.

Super AWESOME PLACE to relax , ride horses or even look at the Arkansas birds and a few out of state birds. Bar j ranch is a place for whatever you would love to do in the country type setting with a family type environment or just the perfect place to get away from the work duties of life and sit back and go to sleep on one of our swings by the fire place and do nothing ,yes this is place!!!! You can go one way and the rest of the family can go another place on the ranch and all have a good time !!!!

The overseers of the ranch are toxic and controlling and they extort and emotionally abuse and harass people who come to them seeking help. They're using religion as a front to lure people in as well, you might have fun riding their horses, but taking care of those animals call for hard labor that gets no thanks, I hate this place

I had the privilege of staying here for the weekend with my son's Boy Scout troop while they earned their Horsemanship Merit Badge. Everyone we encountered was genuinely friendly and helpful. They made us feel like part of the family. The horseback riding and the hayride were great. Everything was conducted in a safe manner, which we appreciated with a group of 12-14 year old boys. Many of them had never been on a horse, but the staff was very patient and made sure they felt comfortable in the saddle before going on a trail ride. The Bar J is a working cattle ranch, so we got to see the cowboys and cowgirls at work. I would enthusiastically recommend this place to anyone looking for a getaway from city life for a day or a week.

We came to the BarJ to celebrate my 11year olds birthday. She had asked for a ranch "experience". What we found was indeed a ranch experience, she spent days on horseback, with border collies who herd cows (and kids) and with the nicest crew of any organization we have ever visited. We were catered to from the first phone call. They even made a birthday dinner/cake and joined the celebration. Will took extra care to make sure everyone in our party was engaged, the interns and Will made sure the horse experience was appropriate, fun and informative for our kids including our 6 year old with a prosthetic leg. The kithen and ranch staff are friendly and efficient and more concerned with our comfort than the staff at 5 star resorts! Lodging is rustic, food is simple, so if you want a taste of country life....this is Green Acres!
