Davidsonville Arkansas State Park has two nice and easy walking trails, mostly shaded. The tiny museum has a lot of interesting information about the long abandoned area. There is also a small gift shop with snack purchases available. No swimming is allowed in the lake but you can fish. Nice place for a picnic. Nice playground tòo.

Viewed the 2024 solar eclipse here today. This park was a delight, staff were incredibly friendly, and the visitor area was selling cheap concessions when they could have easily gouged us. This was such a pleasant find, a lovely park with a cool history.

Very nice campsites! Very clean. Good drainage (in case of heavy rains). Nice hookups. The dump station is not level, so we dumped at campsite. Rangers are all very nice and helpful. Check out visitors center and museum. All well-curated, for understanding the importance of the settlement for the area’s development.

Wow! We came for the 2024 eclipse and stayed not nearly long enough! I can't say enough good about Davidsonville State Park. The staff was friendly and helpful. There was a bearded fellow by the front gate telling everybody where to go (no traffic though) and who we would see when we got there ("another Smokey Bear," he said, pointing to his hat and smiling). When we found the next Smokey she was awesome and gave us a two thumbs up as she pointed the way. They were both obviously loving the day and everybody being there. The facilities were nice however we only used the port-a-potties because they were closer--it is a larger park than we thought ;).

I would love to critique them but they got this covered! Thank you for a fabulous, uneventful event! We will be back--and will be staying at the state parks!
