So much to learn about Boron and the Borax mine. 3 rooms full of fascinating history. Pictures, memorabilia, paintings, mineral rocks and so much more about the history of 20 Mule Team to learn. Its free, open 7 days a week. Also tour the grounds outside, several pieces of mining equipment used in the mines. Excellent learning experience for all ages. Many relics for sale at low prices. If you can...bring a few extra bucks for donation. And we can keep this little piece of California history alive for others to enjoy as well.

I don't remember what day I was here, fortunately the door's were open and the lady was nice enough to give us a private tour next door at the aerospace museum. I ate at a nice little cafe across the street from the museum. We drove around town and seen some of the locations where they filmed Erin brockovich. Boron is a nice little town.

This is a must see only a few miles off the 58 in the historic town of Boron. This museum is top notch and filled with local history of the US Borax mine that has been operating for over 100 years nearby. I suggest visiting the visitor’s center at the mine first and then coming to the 20 Mule Team Museum. Don’t forget to check out the grounds outside where they have a replica of a cottage where the miners (the more senior workers) lived when there was a camp at the mine. Then treat yourself to breakfast, lunch or dinner at the 20 Mules Team Cafe. You won’t be disappointed.

The gentleman in charge was extremely knowledgeable about the mine and the town. Showed us around the museum and told stories about the history of items there. Or if you wanted to just look around on your own he didnt bother you. I was curious about many things and he answered all. Items for sale were very nice especially the tshirt with the mule. Very nice peaceful day. The desert is beautiful. This pic was taken across the street from museum.

Twenty-Mule Team Museum is a quaint not-so-little museum. They take donations, in which I gladly obliged. A donation to see the history surmounting this area? Easy!

This place has artifacts known to me as long-lost treasures. Bob, the man who attends the museum, was more than friendly as he was able to give key insight into the history of the Borax mines and how they conducted business without train tracks.

If you are a local and have not visited this museum, please work up a nice donation and pay tribute! If it wasn't for the history this place entails, the little towns like Boron would not have existed!

It was to to see the history of the twenty mule team. I glad we stopped to check it out. In all the years of going to Vegas . We never had time to stop and check it out. But this time we made time and was glad we did. A lot a cool stuff to see. From little mule team models to artwork and history of the town. And you can find out about George Swain 30 year saftey record at borax.
