We had a wonderful stay! From the moment we booked and spoke with Ryan, we felt we would be staying at a special place. Cambria BeachLodge is a totally updated and renovated old style motel. The location is right across the street from Moonstone Beach, it could not be a better location. All the staff are helpful and kind. Many amenities in the room to make your stay enjoyable, such as a lantern in case you want to walk on the boardwalk after dark . The breakfast works fine. Including good coffee and hand squeezed orange juice. We ate at two local restaurants which were a 3-7 minute walk. We stayed in an oceanfront room, which was very nice. It was great to open the curtains and see the water. Everything in the room was great, the bed was very comfortable. We would definitely stay here again.

From beginning to end of our stay , we felt at home . Everyone is so kind and accommodating. When we asked to use the lobby for an afternoon gathering of our group, we were met with , “consider this an extension of your room”. We felt so welcomed and were just wrapped in love!! Such a great place to stay, that’s why we keep returning

What an absolute gem of a seaside motel! We had the best stay here. The staff is so friendly and welcoming. The rooms are adorable with nice amenities. I spent a lot of time on the rooftop overlook and enjoyed my delicious continental breakfast by the fire in the lobby. Walking distance to several nice restaurants. Bikes are available for guests to use. By far my favorite stay on our 2 week trip to the California Coast.

This was the best find on a 17 day trip and this includes a Norwegian Alaskan cruise. Cambria is a beautiful town and this little lodge on Moonstone Beach was perfect. The welcome is warm, the air is fresh and the room as comfortable, clean and inviting as can be. Beds were deluxe in comfort, towels thick and plush and the little touches made it unique. A nice warm blanket on the chair, binoculars were waiting and the toiletries were unique and smelled so good!
The beach is across the street along the boardwalk and the sunset was stellar. We walked two doors down to a wonderful local restaurant (cash only) with fresh fish and more. We could only stay one night but we are coming back for longer for sure.
Hearst Castle is right down the road but make time for the town of Cambria. It’s the perfect seaside village.
Thank you to the staff for doing such a great job.

Very nicely remodeled inside and out. Crisp, clean bedding. The bathroom toiletries were very nice. The continental breakfast was very nicely done for guests that need to start their day with coffee, tea, and some lite morning food. The common spaces were well decorated and comfortable, with a lovely view. They also have complimentary bikes that the guests may use.

Stopped in after dark looking for a room. Desk attendant indicated they had a room for a certain price. She then indicated there was an "optional" package for $12 which included parking in front of your room, Wifi, and light breakfast. I asked where we would park if we did not buy the optional package and was told "elsewhere on the property". We decided to take the optional package for the breakfast, if nothing else. When we got to the room we realized we were never told the Wi-Fi password and there were a number of food items on the counter. I returned to the front desk. When I asked what the Wi-Fi password was, I was told there was not one. I asked that I didn't really need the optional package for the Wi-Fi and was told "I guess that's correct, some clerks just tell people that". I asked about the items in the room and was presented with a price list that had not been mentioned. I returned to room and my wife indicated there was no refrigerator. We had been on the road all week with snacks and needed a refrigerator. (what hotel doesn't have a refrigerator and microwave?). We decided to find another hotel. I returned to the desk and indicated our desire not to stay. The desk clerk indicated she didn't know how too issue a refund and would have to speak with the manager and he was not there. I politely asked if she would contact him to ensure we would get a refund before we left (It seemed unlikely she would follow through if we left). She reluctantly called the manager "Ryan". I heard her say in front of me "the customer DEMANDED I call you and get a refund.". After a brief discussion with him she indicated he would issue a refund that night.
We had been driving down the California coast for 10 days. This was without any doubt the worst check-in and rudest desk clerk we encountered. This motel seems just be interested in squeezing what money they can from you while providing minimal amenities. It was also the most expensive place we checked-in including a beachfront hotel in Santa Barbara.

We notified the hotel that we were arriving after 11 pm. No problem getting the keys but the room heat had not been turned on in expectation of our arrival and the room was about 50 F and took about 40 minutes to warm up. The fireplace didn’t work either. The room could use more towel hooks/bars. Otherwise it was an excellent stay and we enjoyed the breakfast with fresh OJ, great coffee and pastries, and outstanding views. Service was friendly too and they let us have a 12 noon checkout given our late arrival which was greatly appreciated.

We loved our stay here, location is fabulous with being right across from the boardwalk and beach. Note that this is a smaller quaint boutique hotel not a massive resort. They have nice sized rooms, wonderful sky bridge that looks out on the ocean (bottle of wine and a book highly recommended, they have the blankets already).
