Fun time for the kids. The train departs at 1130, 100 and 230p. The audio tour explains to you what happened there in the recent and not recent time. You spend about 40 mins on the train and then head to the hangar for the rest of the tour.

What a nice place. Staff are all volunteers. Loads of railway bits. Lots of old train carriages. And the 40 minutes train ride is the best.

My mom & I came for the ‘Sip N Spook’ train and unfortunately missed the train ride itself due to traffic/travel issues — Kerry the volunteer took us and 2 other folks under his wing and talked to us, showed us the museum, told us stories, and walked us out to greet the train as it pulled back into the station so we could get photos and videos. He also served as the shuttle driver back to our cars. Such a kind and funny man. He really turned our experience around!

Celebrated our son’s 2nd birthday here! Was nice and quiet, we had the whole place to ourselves! This was perfect for family , also because our 5 year old has mental disability (autism non verbal) , we had a great time! Rich history! Wear your boots ! Bring sunscreen! Bathrooms were all clean !

Very nice museum. In some ways better than the Southern California Railway Museum in Perris CA. (that one has too many interesting areas off-limits) This museum is about the same size but you can see the whole thing. Train only runs on Saturday. I rode it 20 years ago and it was enjoyable. Some very interesting and rare locomotives.

So much fun!! The volunteers are friendly and inviting. The train ride was a blast & we can't wait to visit again. A smooth 45 minute ride through beautiful rolling hills with Big Band music playing overhead, gave us us a rare glimpse into its history. We saw horses, cows, and hawks in an area most people don't get to see. Like them on social media & you'll receive $5 off! Children under 3 ride for free. Tons of free parking.

This museum is a hidden gem. There is a great collection of historical engines and cars, ranging from a steam engine to a Coaster engine. The story of the railroad in San Diego is told by historical photos and displays, plus some of the cars on display. Adults and kids alike will enjoy the train ride. The best part is the entry and ride fees are very reasonable and a great value. In addition to the exhibit building, there are 8 tracks with locomotives and cars to explore, and some new exhibits are under construction.

Went here for Easter my little girl had a marvelous time. It was raining this year so the indoor egg hunt was perfect and my Daughter loved being on the train.
