if you want to relax and be surrounded by beauty, visit Bernardus! We like to go in November during the week because you can do two nights third night free and the resort is not busy at all! The amenities are so enjoyable, and the spa although small it was clean, well maintained and very relaxing! the rooms are spacious, the grounds are impeccable and the staff is so friendly and kind.

Beautiful and peaceful property! We ate dinner one night at Lucia, which was lovely and watched the sun set each evening from the infinity jacuzzi. Our only complaint is that we booked nights under two reservations (using credit card points) and I called ahead to ensure we wouldn’t have to move rooms - was reassured they would connect the bookings and we’d have one room for the week. And then when we checked in we were told…we’d have to move rooms. Other than that, we really liked the resort and would definitely return!

We stopped for lunch on a whim because we like Bernardus wines. The outdoor setting was beautiful. Lunch was great. Live music had a singer with fantastic voice. Everything top!

A magical place for a special occasion. Stayed just one night and definitely felt the sting of the high cost, but given the ability to use the pool and jacuzzi + spa areas even after checkout the day of departure (for which other places would charge extra), it felt like money well spent. At the end of the day, this place is worth every cent.

Checkout at 12; amazing, free healthy snacks everywhere. Gorgeous setting among the vines and mountains. Lavender and rose garden. Super duper comfy bed and pillows (I have a hard time sleeping in hotels).

Lovely stay! Spacious rooms, beautiful grounds, wonderful attention to detail. We were impressed by all the complimentary premium farm fresh snacks, wine and refreshments in our room. Nice touch!

Loved that the sauna and steam were accessible without treatments. Highly recommend.

We just checked and we wanted to upgrade out room. I was told they are at max capacity and could not accommodate the update. Even though we were offered by upgrade this morning. I just checked Expedia and their own website and there are plenty of upgraded rooms available. Not sure why you would lie to your guests when I can easily see that it’s not true. Our is very noisy, feels like a cave and there is not a view. I have stayed here many times so this is very disappointing.

We came for the tennis, the food, the spa and the location. ||||We left feeling like we spent much more than what we received, and unwelcome.||||We had a long day of driving and arrived late, around 11:30pm. We were hastily given a map and a room number and instructed to find it in the dark. No complimentary glass of wine, no information about the amenities or the resort fee perks, no warm welcome. ||||It was a bit stressful finding our room in the dark. After seeing the golf carts out front I was confused why someone didn’t help us get to our room. ||||Other small things I noticed during the stay made me feel like customer centric isn’t a core value…. Such as shampoo and conditioner being nailed into the wall of the shower (making it impossible to use while taking a bath). If they wanted to prioritize guest comfort they’d ensure you’re able to access everything you need from the tub! I know it’s minor, but when you’re driving 6 hours to relax after a long hard work week and want to take a bubble bath, it prevents that from happening. ||||Our last morning we had the do not disturb sign hanging as we attempted to enjoy our last few hours of vacation. Housekeeping knocked not once, not twice but three times. “Hello?” ||||Yes, we’re in here trying to relax on our final day of vacation. We requested a late check out, but the first knock came before 12pm. And you would think the front desk would communicate our checkout time to the housekeepers. ||||The result was us feeling like we needed to get out the last morning. If it would have happened once, maybe an accident. But three times? 🙁 not a relaxing final morning on vacation…. ||||For the price, I think you can find something much more welcoming, warm and focused on customer comfort. I’m excited to find that place in Carmel/Carmel Valley.
