My wife and I take every opportunity we can to escape to Carmel. We love the small town charm and the amazing selection of food and wine. Every time we’ve visited we find ourselves wandering around the town and relying on google reviews to guide us.

But this time we decided to try something different and hopefully experience a whole new side of Carmel. We discovered Carmel Wine and Wandering and decided to give it a shot. Now I’m just upset that we didn’t discover it sooner!

We learned so much fascinating history of Carmel and discovered places we had never seen before. Our tour guide was a wealth of information, and honestly, I think a bit of a local celebrity. Around every corner it seemed there was another local excited to see Toby.

The tour took us through a nice variety of tasting rooms, and I never imagined I could learn so much about wine. Fair warning, this tour will expose you to wines that you will not want to leave town without. Fortunately, the tour afforded us VIP treatment from the tasting rooms.

Carmel has always been my happy place, but after experiencing this tour, it’s taken it to a whole new level. I can’t wait to go back!

Such an enjoyable & fun learning afternoon! We have visited Carmel numerous times but decided to embark on a new experience. The Wine & Wandering walking tour of Carmel exceeded our expectations! Our guide, Toby was joyful, knowledgeable & so much fun! He shared places we never knew existed, taught us so much about wine, the wine tasting procedures, shared personal anecdotes & provided restaurant recommendations we can’t wait to try on this & future trips! The tasting room choices were local & fantastic! We have ordered his new/first book, You’re Just Saying That (Because It’s True) & can’t wait for its arrival. We recommend this tour to anyone, those new Carmel or those who have been many times!

My husband and I highly recommend taking the Wine and Wandering Tour!! We were so fortunate to have Toby as our tour guide. He is so much fun and is excellent at teaching you about wine; tasting techniques, and much more. He taught us about Carmel's history and points of interests throughout town.
We have spent so much time in Carmel throughout our life, but gained so much more insight into the area from Toby. He took us through charming paths that we had no idea existed and now we will return to these beautiful spots. We also gained appreciation for some new wines we got to try at some of the tasting rooms. Toby takes you to some of the best tasting rooms in Carmel.
We definitely recommend taking this tour while in Carmel by the Sea! You will laugh and gain a new friend in Toby and others who are in your group.

Toby took us on the most wonderful tour of Carmel today! A passionate enthusiast for his town, as well as a highly knowledgeable storyteller, Toby took us all through downtown Carmel, pointing out hidden gems, historical landmarks, architectural delights, and peppering in timely and fantastic recommendations. The wineries he took us to were also all brilliant - small, boutique producers doing interesting, diverse distillings of classic grapes. Though we tasted similar (all very local) varietals between producers, each glass was substantially different, and all were exceptional. One of the best tours I’ve gone on, and one I’d be very happy to recommend and to repeat!

We had such a great afternoon with Toby wandering around Carmel and enjoying some delicious wines! Toby has great knowledge about the history of the town and provided so many recommendations of places to see! He even arranged a table for us at a place as we were late arranging a table! My only regret is that we waited till our last day to take the tour and should have taken it on the first day so we could go to all the places he mentioned! Highly recommend to anyone visiting Carme!

The Wine and Wandering Tour was phenomenal. The tour guide, Toby, did an excellent job of introducing us to Carmel (was our first time visiting), explaining the different wines of the area, and being delightful company the entirety of our tour.

What made it really great was that it felt as though you were being led around town by an old friend who knew all of the special spots in the town. Would highly recommend this tour for anyone new to Carmel, having a keen interest in wine, or just a great way to spend an afternoon!

What a wonderful tour! Toby was an amazing guide. Even as locals, he showed us some of Carmel’s secret hidden gems. They were majestic!
The wineries were fun & the wines were exceptional. Toby had some great recommendations and we learned so much about Monterey County wines. We also had great weather - Such a treat to taste
& tour around Carmel by the Sea with a great host!

My boyfriend got me this tour as a Christmas present, and it was the best present I could have asked for! Our tour guide, Toby, was so wonderful, it was like hanging out with an old friend. He knew extensive details about the history of Carmel, the vineyards, and the surrounding areas. He also knew where many of the hidden gems in Carmel by the Sea are, and made sure to bring us by them. He had wonderful recommendations for things to do and see, places to dine, and wine to drink.

The tasting rooms he took us to were very cute, and the selections of tastings we did throughout the tour were all very different, so we got to try a variety of delicious, local wines. Toby is clearly very knowledgeable about wine and the local production, so he was able to describe the wines to us in detail as we enjoyed them.

We did not want the tour to end! We are so glad we did this tour and had the pleasure of being guided by Toby. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone who is considering it.
