Such a cool place! You start off in the desert and end up in the mountain - 8,516 elevation! The views are amazing. There are some really neat trails on the mountain as well. Be sure to stop in and talk to the rangers and get tips and suggestions. The ranger we talked to was so helpful and genuinely interested in sharing his knowledge. We’re going back to do the peak hike one day! We met a few people who made it all the way to the top, they said it took them the whole day! So if you plan on doing the peak hike, be sure to get up the on the first tram!

Super awesome experience from desert to high desert mountains. From 80 to 50 degrees in minutes! I should have scheduled to be up there to take more time hiking around before it got dark. Had a great late lunch (before they closed to prep for dinner). The views are just stunning and the people were friendly.

A great experience that you should not skip! Vistor centers at the top and bottom provide information and history, along with restrooms and food options. Tram takes you up about 6000 feet in a roughly 10 minute ride. You'll be standing in the car, but the outer platform slowly rotates so everyone can see the view. I have a history of vertigo so I chose to stand in the inner part of the car where I could remain still. The views at the top are fantastic and there are hiking trails, restaurants and the state park ranger station. We did a short hike and watched some of the films in the visitor center. The staff was so awesome, from the beginning to end! Warm, reassuring, friendly.
Important notes: you'll pay for parking separate from the Tram tickets. Dress in layers, it is about 20° colder at the top, plus very windy. Depending on how busy it is, you may wait for a Tram up; the tickets are timed so you'll know when your boarding time is. Best to go early.

Definitely worth doing. Incredible views and Mount San Jacinto State Park is beautiful. Tons of trails to explore once you’re up there. Make sure you check the weather before taking the trip up! So many people were unprepared for the dramatic shift in temperature. It was 68 in Palm Springs and 33 when we got to the peak.

Spent a fun half day here. Rode the tram to the top of the mountain and took the shortest hike. Had a late lunch at the Peaks restaurant, which was very good! We tried 2 of the burgers (both excellent), they came with crispy wedge fries. Also had the "Excellent Margarita" which was good too. Pricey, but views and food is worth it. I recommend making reservations in advance, people were waiting 30 minutes for a table without one.

We got there after Thanksgiving Day at 8:00 a.m. and purchased our tickets at the booth very easily. Got inside the tram at 8:24 a.m. with plenty of space. Not crowded initially and got very crowded when heading down at 12:00 p.m.
Very nice area and hikes were beautiful. Need to pay a $15 fee for the parking lot and since we were early we got to park near the entrance which was very cool.

Amazing, and for sure, my husband and I will come back soon.
We leave early in the morning ? and we wait for buy the tickets ? ? because I didn't find online...so you can go there directly and buy those ? everyone is really nice, the Rangers are awesome they explained us everything and we didn't have problems to get San Jacinto Peak. That Sunday (11/17/2024) was a beautiful day. One day before was snowing ? at night, so the views were incredible, and we had a good hiking ?♀️ ?♂️ and a great adventure ☃️

Spectacular sights the whole way up the 6,000 feet from the base camp to the top. The platform rotates to give you a 360 degree view the whole way up and down. The floor and the outer ring rotate which makes the structure unique. We did a little hiking at the top, there’s lunch at the top also. This was a great activity to do with kids. Go early, we were told by multiple staff, the later in the day it gets, the longer the lines are to get on the tram.
