Foolish federal cuts have pared ranger staff for this, the second largest wilderness and roadless area in the lower 48. Service, information, and communication is not what it used to be, despite valiant effort of the men and women who are keeping the Trinity Alps safe, accessible, and hopefully uncombusted. Campfire permits and wilderness permits available at the kiosk when the facility is closed.

Didn't go inside the Ranger Station but the "Kiosk" that is outside has all the information one would need. Got a wilderness overnight pass and a fire permit so we could go backpacking in the Trinity Apls.

Got my wood cutting permit as usual. Never can fill it. Even though I've been in the usfs computer for st least 5 years it took forever to get permit.

Other than being closed due to the pandemic - information at the station is kept up to date and the various pamphlets were helpful.
