Poor customer service at front desk..! Had to come back for a second appointment because they didn’t do the oil change and tire rotation as requested the first time. First visit they wouldn’t replace the inspection sticker because of a cracked tail light. I understand that but they didn’t do the tire rotation or change the oil. Second visit took over two hours to do an oil change and tire rotation…then, the tail light took another 45 minutes to find out they ordered the wrong part. Now I have to come back again…ugh..! I won’t be using this AAA again!

STAY AWAY FROM THIS SHOP!!! I Took my 2009 Honda Civic to Clifton Heights Pa location for a car inspection on 5/13/2024 . First time ever coming here, I came because I was told members get discounts for car services. After my car was look at, I was told by associate that I need numerous things repair . My inspection did not pass because I need major work in order to past inspection. I knew immediately it was a lie because I take good care of my car . I was told I needed back brakes, defroster repair, windshield wipers , control arm left and right, steering etc etc . Estimate total of repair work was $1670. My gut feelings inside was saying this can’t be true . So glad I follow my gut feeling. So the next day I took it to my local shop to get re- inspected. Guess what I PASSED. The guy who inspected my car said it’s nothing wrong with your car . They didn’t find not 1 thing wrong . My gut feelings was correct about AAA. Bunch of lies and scams. Either they like to take advantage of women or they trying to met there dollar quotas for the day. I will never , ever take my car to this place again. Not even for a oil change. It’s really a shame how you guys give customers false reports just to make money . I am also going to report you guys to BBB. After reading other reviews , it seems like you guys have repeat history of doing this for people who come on for inspection . You guys don’t even deserve 1 star. If I can give no stars I would but doing a reviewing it will not allow me to . So disappointed in your location . It so wrong to just take people hard working money knowing nothing isn’t wrong with the car.

Pretty unpleasant customer service experience. Both representatives did not make eye contact with me for some reason.

Sent my car there in April because it was a free tow from My aaa. Had a problem starting it. After weeks, was told it was the starter $250. ok.. fix it I’ll pay. Then was told NAW, it’s the Auto starter! We bypassed that and it starts. Now,Up to $400+! Ok..next, well it is an electrical issue… we’re gonna need $1200+? Naw, that’s too much! So.. we disabled ur auto start, That wasn’t the problem.. sooo, u owe us $400+ to get ur car BACK!😳 but they were friendly while robbing me! 👍

A tale of two garages:

THE GOOD: great phone intake, courteous mechanic rep (Casper or Kaspar); reps seemed pretty straightforward and professional. Replaced all 4 of my tires the next day and called to say my car was ready for pickup.

THE BAD: such a poor processing setup that I wouldn't go back or recommend it. I walked into a big, almost-empty AAA center with three women staffing the welcome desk. There were multiple, other employees doing nothing at other desks. To make a long story short, the welcomers said that they couldn't swipe my credit card or give me my key; I had to work with Mark, who was about to begin intake with a customer whose car had been towed with a flat tire.

Mark didn't even acknowledge my presence. After talking about tire replacement options with the only other customer in the entire place, Mark said that his mechanics would have to check whether they had a matching tire. Instead of just calling to one of them, Mark left the desk himself and was gone...and gone... and gone. After 10 more minutes of waiting I asked one of the three employees who were on their cell phones if one of them could just ring up my credit card and hand me my key. No, they couldn't do that, only Mark could. One of them told me that "patience is a virtue." How zen. I went back to the line and waited some more.

Mark came back to the desk after 10-15 minutes and resumed his genial discussion of tire options with the person ahead of me. He still didn't acknowledge my presence until, after about 20 minutes total, I stared at him for so long that he looked up. He proceeded to hold my gaze and very slowly raise his index finger. The universal "one moment," signal, with a bit of passive aggression for good measure.

When finally it was my turn, I very civilly mentioned to Mark that I'd been waiting for 30 minutes. He would have none of it. He was courteous at first, almost philosophical, but wouldn't acknowledge that there'd been a problem. I said, hey, you seem like a nice guy, maybe the problem is AAA's. Maybe they're not staffing enough people. I just wanted to know whether Mark agreed that there WAS a problem-- whether, if he'd been in my shoes, he would see it as business as usual, or whether he might think that someone else should have been taking my credit card. Should AAA create a different system? He just wouldn't address it. Starting to get a bit snide, he said, "it's a matter of having common sense, Ben. If I go into a restaurant and see that it's really busy, people zipping by all around me, I know in advance that I'm gonna be waiting and I don't mind."

AHA, I said, but here it's NOT busy at ALL! You've had two customers for the past 30 minutes, and there were probably 5 other desk employees sitting around doing nothing! And 2 other mechanics stopped by the front desk during that time!
He shook his head and said, "no one else here can do what I do."
That was right before he had me swipe my credit card, sign my name, and handed me my key. Yes, surely no one else could do THOSE things.

Then he denied my entire premise-- said I couldn't have been waiting for 30 minutes because he hadn't been away from his desk for that long. I said, Ah, but Mark, I texted someone 5 minutes after I came in to say that I'd been waiting, and and you can see the time stamp. 30 minutes total! He just pursed his lips and said, "well, let's get your things together and get you out of here, Ben."
Then he said, voice dripping with sarcasm, "it's a busy day with a lot of things going on, and I'm sorry that that inconvenienced you, Ben."

Again: one other customer in the place, and multiple employees sitting around doing nothing. But he wanted me to know it was the busy DAY that inconvenienced me.

I feel badly about all this, b/c Casper was very courteous and professional when doing my intake, and Mark too was courteous and professional with the person ahead of me. AAA did the necessary work for me. They're just working in a terrible system. (And Mark could learn a thing or two about putting himself in someone else's shoes.)
