We came here a few weeks ago and had an amazing experience! Sadly I forgot the drivers name but felt I wanted to let u know that before this I never thought I would get into a buggy on a main road because it’s a horse and can be spooked and run into traffic . The driver was very reassuring and made sure that we as a family knew we were safe and she took that as a responsibility and made our ride so enjoyable!! We will definitely be returning in the warmer months for more rides. Thanks for changing my opinion on the safety of buggy rides it was soo fun and very interesting. I’m gonna definitely spread the word about this business

After reviewing Google reviews of Amish buggy rides, we chose Abe’s. My wife and I enjoyed the ride with our friends’ kids after having lunch at Shady Maple. The five of us had a wonderful ride with our driver, Sadie. She gave the option for one of the kids to sit up front with her, and the 12 yr old seized the opportunity. He had great conversation with her, as she answered all of his questions about the Amish way of life. She was very friendly and personable. We all enjoyed chatting with her. The only negative comment is that no reservations are taken for the rides, it’s in order of arrival. We were told it would be a 40 minute wait, but it was more like an hour. To fill in the time, we all enjoyed feeding and petting the goats and minature horse.

We drove to Lancaster County PA in mid August last year and toured around on our own. We found Abe’s Buggy Rides in Bird In Hand. We signed up for a ride and had to wait about 20 minutes as there were other people in front of us.
The buggy ride was very nice and the girl driver was rather talkative. We learned a lot about the Amish.
Nice old farm setting with different buggy’s to take photos.

We had such an amazing experience on the two-mile ride. It was exactly what we were looking for while visiting Bird in Hand! All three of my girls loved chatting with Sadie and experiencing a little glimpse of Amish life.

This was worth every penny. We got the 6.5 mile buggy ride. The countryside is stunning. Beautiful Lancaster County and an excellent way to explore and experience small aspects of Amish life and the community. Come ready with questions but also do a little research prior.
One piece of advice... don't expect your tour guide to just talk and ramble along. You have to be interested and ask polite, educated questions. The Amish are private and can be reserved, so feel free to engage them.

What a great experience. We had Paul as our driver he offered up information on how life is there and answered every question that we had. Open buggy was a lot cooker than we thought it was going to be. Everyone that worked there was very friendly and resoectful.

Barbie was our buggy driver and I cannot even begin to describe what an amazing experience it was. She was an absolute delight, the kindest most genuine person who was so excited to see us happy.
We went on a wonderful buggy ride through the countryside and got to pet our horse Billy afterwards.

It was a nice experience. We did not have to wait and could get a buggy ride right away. Once we got off the main road, it was more peaceful with Amish farms and creek around the road. The coachman gave us some information here and there. Could see many farm animals. Did 3 miles one, did not stop anywhere. Also felt a little awkward on the main road as vehicles were lined behind us sometimes. Would recommend.
