A continuation of my previous review...

The whole situation felt super one-sided and reactive. When I asked something, I might get a response, or I might not. No updates, no confirmations, absolutely 0 communication until she decided to chase me for the remaining balance, which was supposed to be $1,200. But she claimed the $200 deposit was just a booking fee. This was only three days before my event on February 8th, 2025. She texted me with an attitude, asking why I hadn’t sent her the money yet. Did you even ask? You said a few days before the event, but did you give me a specific date? Nope. What if I wanted to pay two days before? Coming at me with an attitude when you’ve been unresponsive most of the time? Seriously? I asked her if I only had to pay $1,200, and that’s when I found out she was lying. She said it was actually $1,400 plus the $200 to secure the date. That’s not what she told me during the viewing. It feels like a sneaky tactic to squeeze more money out of me just because I tried to negotiate. I didn’t want to keep going back and forth on the phone (this is the only time I actually spoke to her over the phone) because I was worried about my booking getting canceled. Fine, take it. What else could I do? She promised to send me a video on how to enter the event space after I paid, but guess what? I had to remind her the night before my event at around 9 PM. Also, out of nowhere she asked me for a pic of my ID. Shouldn’t you done that way before and not last minute? You have more than a month to do that and you waited till now? Seriously what a joke. Totally inexperienced even space owner.

I felt like I have to chase over everything to make everything right, and it was just so annoying. It shouldn’t be this way. The big day finally arrived, and there were only 6 tables with black tablecloths when she promised 8. Plus, the wall holes weren’t painted like she said they would be. The heater wasn’t even warm, and it was 90 degrees outside! She claimed her heating system was top-notch, but that was just nonsense. I called her right away, but she didn’t pick up and only replied to my text once. She completely ignored my request for extra tablecloths, so I had to dash out and buy some myself at the last minute. Overall, it was a disappointing experience. I won’t be going back to AJSPACE. The owner seems inexperienced, lacking professionalism and empathy. If you’re thinking about booking with her, just be careful—don’t let her take advantage of you. Negotiating might not work, as she’ll find a way to make you pay more, like I did. There were other issues, but I’m done venting. On the bright side, she did give me plenty of time to set up, getting into the space and finding the key was easy, she provided a speaker, and even gave me some extra time at the end, which was a nice surprise. So, there you have it—an honest review.

Be careful when booking this event space! The owner is dishonest and will promise you everything until you pay a non-refundable $200 deposit. After that, she tends to break her promises and isn't very responsive—she often ignores phone calls but will reply to texts, which is pretty strange. I experienced this three times. My wife and I checked out the venue on December 30th, and everything seemed great during the tour. The owner answered all our questions, and we really liked the place. She offered to provide 8 tables, 8 black tablecloths, an arch, 3-cylinder tables, and a party speaker (though she mentioned she’s hesitant to lend it out because it got stolen before, which I totally understand). She also promised to paint over quite a lot of holes in the wall and clean the space before our event. We were excited to finally find a nice venue and decided to book it for 4 hours from 12-4 PM. She quoted us $1500, but after some negotiation, we settled on $1400. When we were about to sign the contract, her husband went next door to print it, but he claimed the printer was down or the store was closed. If we had signed it there, I wouldn’t have had to deal with that annoying “secure the date fee.” Since I couldn’t sign it in person, I had to read the contract on my phone. Everything seemed fine, so I sent her the $200 deposit right away to secure the date. The contract clearly stated it was a “deposit,” not a fee! I thought it would go toward the total balance when I paid the rest a few days before the event, but I was completely mistaken.On the following Monday, I completed the contract with my details and sent it off right away. While I was filling it out online, I noticed that the section for the “remaining balance” (which the 1200 dollars should be there) was locked, as well as the column for “the date for payment”. I couldn't change anything there since it was un-editable. I thought it might be a glitch/bug, so I didn’t want to scribble over it with a pen because that would look messy and unprofessional. However, that was my biggest mistake because that costed me an extra 200. I thought we had the same understanding that 200 was the deposit of the full amount of 1400 and a few days before the event I only needed to pay the 1200 but the total amount was actually 1600. Found out the hard way a few days before my event that 1400 was the price to rent and 200 to secure the date bullshit. And of course, after I sent back the contract I didn’t get any confirmation or a reply from her, and she didn’t bring up the missing info about the balance or payment date, which she probably had planned on using against me to squeeze the extra $200 when she asked for the “remaining balance”.From January until the event day, I tried reaching out to the business owner, and she really gave off the vibe of being super busy and overwhelmed. She often wouldn’t answer calls, would reply with an attitude, or ask me what event I was talking about without even checking our previous messages. She avoided phone calls but would text back, probably to avoid any confrontation, as if her time was more important than mine. It was quite odd. I even asked her nicely if she had an easel at her venue, and she didn’t respond. I had to follow up two days later, and her reply was just rude, saying we only had what I saw during viewing the venue. You mean the brief 15-minute viewing time I have to remember everything from every corner and where everything is? I then screen shotted a pic the easel from one of her Instagram videos, and she said she’d get back to me. Spoiler alert: she never did. Luckily, I stopped waiting on her and just bought my own easel.

I couldn’t have chosen a better place to have my event at than AJ EVENT SPACE. The space was so clean, beautiful and spacious; the perfect venue to have any occasion. I am so thankful for the owners; they were so nice and accommodating. They made our event much better by being so supportive and understanding. They allowed us to decorate from the night before & even assisted us with the process. They were lenient with the time being that the guest of honor arrived fashionably late and they allowed us extra time to enjoy ourselves and clean up. The owners were very involved with the whole process; from their communication to their physical support - they were super professional. I will definitely be booking with them again!!

“A time was had!” , perfect space for my gender reveal, the Host was very professional, helpful & respectful. He had every piece of equipment I needed to throw the event. I highly recommend AJ Event Space, & I would most definitely rent that space again!

If I could give this place 10 star I would in a heart beat. I was struggling to find a place for my son birthday party and I came across this place!! Man they helped me out!!
Very professional and it was definitely clean, and very spacious. I definitely recommend this place
