After a short drive from the cruise terminal at Ketchikan we arrived at Harriet Hunt Lake, not quite knowing what to expect, especially as it was raining.

Colt and Connor were there to greet us, and kited us out with heavy duty rain coats and life jackets, and of course a paddle.

After a short safety briefing, we proceeded, all 14 of us to the lake, following his instructions to board the boat one by one.

His passion, wit(self confessed dad jokes), and knowledge just made the whole experience, as we paddled slowly across the lake and round a little island.

We stopped for a very welcome cooked clam chowder and snacks. Then on to a rainforest walk, stopping at various points for some interesting facts about the natural features at that point.

A quick paddle back to the starting point and back in the minibus to the cruise ship.

A great experience, and even in quite rainy conditions very enjoyable.

I had the chance today to go on this tour and it was by far the most adventurous tour I’ve been on. It had beautiful scenery, great information, fun and jokes, the atmosphere of the tour guide was absolutely outstanding and over all I would do this tour again and again. Keegan was over the top great! 10/10 stars for his hard work, great communication and over all ability to make it a perfect tour. I want to thank Ed for making sure I was able to go as well. Big shout out to the whole team because yall rock!!

We took the Canoe Adventure on Lake Harriet Hunt today, and it was super fun. It started with a bus ride through the Tongass National Forest. The canoes were stable and easy to maneuver, making paddling enjoyable for everyone. Our guides were exceptional, offering insights into the area's natural and cultural history and keeping us entertained with humor and dad jokes. Skunk cabbage and Old Mans Beard...? The rainforest nature walk was informative, teaching us about medicinal plants.

The snacks provided, including clam chowder, smoked salmon, and hot chocolate, were delicious and much appreciated after paddling. The entire tour was well-organized, and the guides were friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a unique and immersive Alaskan adventure. It's the perfect mix of nature, adventure, and relaxation. Looking forward to the Jeep tour next.

We had an amazing experience on the Canoe and Jeep Safari! Abby was an amazing guide. She may be new, but she's been reading up, studying, and able to share a ton of info about the local history, details on Ketchikan, natural medicines and edible plants, while guiding us through the Tongass National Forest, temperate rain forest. We loved the Jeep adventure on old logging trails. You'll get bounced around a bit, be ready to do some 4 wheeling, you'll have a blast! It was wet and rainy- because you're in a RAIN FOREST!!- so come prepared! Water proof boots are a huge plus, or perhaps a necessity. Rain jackets with a hood are helpful too. The company outfits you with large, long raincoats with hoods, as well as life jackets for the Canoe ride across the lake. We had some yummy clam chowder and hot chocolate/ coffee with salmon spread and jam on baguettes. Then a short trek through the incredible rain forest while learning about local medicinal and edible plants, as well as local wildlife. The scenery and greenery is amazing, even if it is foggy and rainy. 5 stars from our crew of 5, we absolutely loved the tour and had a blast with Abby. Thank you!!!

Took a canoe and walking nature trail tour with Alaska Travel Adventures during a short visit to Ketchikan in early June 2023. There was an overcast and light rain during my tour. Raincoats and a light snack were provided. Enthusiastic and knowledgeable tour guide. Fun way to experience part of the Tongass National Forest.

Highly recommend this combination Jeep and canoe trip. You get to drive through the forest and old logging tracks, through deep puddles and mud and everything. Do much fun. The canoe is short and takes you to a short nature walk. Hannah was an excellent guide.
