We had a great morning with the Try Scuba class! 6 students total, Kurt was a fun and patient instructor. Karen was great communicating about where to register and completing the forms and brief online class.
They're very thorough on all the gear and safety.
Maybe we'll take an open water Caribbean trip!

My family has been using this dive shop for over a decade. My daughter (at age 12) and husband got certified about 14 years ago. My oldest (at age 15) got certified a year later. I was in charge of the younger 2, so now it’s my turn! Karen is so helpful and kind. I was nervous about the written test—at 55, it’s been a minute since I had to take a test. I did the online course, then I went back and reviewed or “re-took” all of the quizzes. I still missed 4 questions. Don’t take the written test lightly. My instructor, Kurt, was also kind and patient. He took the time to make sure my questions were answered and really tried to reassure me to reduce my anxiety. I’m so stoked to go on my trip and do my open water checkout! I will likely do the quarry dive this summer. Kurt convinced me that it’s good skill practice. I think my body is made of styrofoam! 😂I would like to have better control of my buoyancy. Thank you both!

We had a fantastic “try scuba” lesson with Kurt. I have been interested in scuba for most of my life but I’ve never had anyone to try it with because my husband has a fear of water. Well, we both signed up for this lesson to see if we both wanted to move forward with the certification or not - after about five minutes underwater my husband totally relaxed and said he felt absolutely no fear for the first time in his entire life (42 years) and that he’s now extremely excited to move forward with certification.

Instructor Ken was awesome! He was helpful and patient. Great skills refresher instructor. Taught us techniques we were not even aware of or possibly have forgotten in the 13 years since my last dive. I can't thank you enough for arranging for him to instruct us on such a short notice. Got the diving bug again!

I love scuba and wanted my 11 year old son to try it. This was the perfect “test run”. He’s hooked and wants to get certified. Instructor was great. So patient and helpful.

Let's begin....
I don't like water. I've snorkeled with my wife in Puerto Rico, Florida, and Hawaii. Not one time did I really enjoy It. Woter in myask. Terrible. I'm not a great swimmer to begin with. But.....I do it because my wife is a Pisces, so she os a fish in the water. I always try and to no avail. I just don't like it.

Fast forward. We are going to Australia in 2025 for my wife's 40th. She wants to scuba and see the Reef. So...Xmas 2023 I buy us a try before you buy scuba lesson.

Lesson... Ok suited Up, in the water, nervous. Not liking it. Ready to Abort. Listen to the instructor. Follow well.

Wow, after getting through my fear. What an experience. We spent at least 20 minutes underwater without surfacing. I couldn't believe it. I restged well. I was calm. I learned how to clear water from my Mask. F@#k yes!

We are going to get certified. I'm not missing the great barrier Reef. Nor any other Change to scuba.

It's worth it. Just do it. Trust your instructor.

Scuba is easier than swimming. It just is.
