This lodge is located about 30 minutes north of Fairbanks. We stayed for two nights with the hope of seeing the Aurora. Mok (the innkeeper) did a great job of alerting us when it was visible on our first night. Our room on the 2nd floor allowed amazing unobstructed views to the North. |A kitchen is included, and we cooked breakfast and dinner in the room. |If Mok has a tour in the main lodge area, then he will have hot drinks and cookies available. |The second night, we didn’t get as lucky, because of cloudy skies—-but the room kept us warm, and we got to sit on the couch to look out the windows——and try to wish the Aurora into existence.

Booked 2 night tours with Mok at his Aurora Borealis Lodge with awesome results. The Aurora did not disappoint! Mok was so accommodating and the viewing deck was spacious! He was so knowledgeable and even helped guests with their cameras! Took a fantastic picture of us with the Aurora!|Highly recommend the Aurora Borealis Lodge!

Fantastic experience, I drove up to the lodge just for the evening to watch the northern lights…Mok Is a Wonderful host and extremely knowledgeable. He made the experience better than I could’ve imagined. The cabin is comfortable and very relaxing The location is unbeatable. I highly highly recommend.. If you can drive up to the aurora borealis Lodge rather than taking a bus with a tour company I recommend doing so.. This was the highlight of our trip!

Outstanding experience. A bucket list item that is fully achieved and then some. Mok, the owner, gave an Aurora viewing orientation at the lodge, kept us informed of the best viewing time to go outside (into the cold), and was completely interested in us having a great experience. He even allowed everyone to stay past the ending time by over 20 minutes when the Aurora Borealis display grew to a spectacular level of colors and movements. A fantastic host and an experience worth every penny and a late, late night.

Excellent! Highly recommend! The lodge/Chalet is about 39 minutes north of Fairbanks. It's a beautiful drive. We stayed in the Chalet. We were a party of 5. At night we were connected on a group chat to let everyone know when the Northern lights were showing. Also a walkie talkie was in the room to alert us when the lights were showing. Mok the owner was very communicative with us from day one of making the reservation.

We got amazing pictures of the lights and Mok was a very friendly gentleman. He said we would stay at the lodge as long as needed to view the lights. Coffee and hot chocolate were provided with cookies to snack on. There were couches with full view of the sky if you wanted to stay inside or a big deck outside.

Logan's Chalet--the separate house on the Aurora Borealis property--was everything we hoped for. it is in good condition, warm, with a nice layout with a big open livingroom/kitchen, and a very good wifi. And nearby separate viewing platform was what was needed to have a 360 degree view of the sky above the trees. It was built very safely with textured metal stairs--and bench for sitting at the top. We did not want aurora viewing tours out of Fairbanks for four hours and being with a group. Rather, we wanted the opportunity to view on our own at any time during the night--and at times we managed the cold for three hours! Mok was excellent in using texting and a walkie-talkie to tell us each night when the aurora was showing. We were just up a road from Cleary Summit. What is surprising is that we found that the camera would absorb more of the color than we could see--and we could bring out in the photo by adjusting the brightness. Mok and Akiko are a lovely couple and ensured there were some basic things like coffee, tea, sugar, olive oil, flour, and other things. And loads of clean towels. Thank you both!!

By far one of the BEST experiences we have ever had! We stayed 3 nights and wished it was longer! Fairbanks is a beautiful quick 20 minute drive, so stay here instead! We stayed in Fairbanks 2 nights and paid more for the room and so wished we stayed here instead. Most everything you need kitchen wise is supplied. You can cook meals here if you want. We did bring a game to pass the time. But if you are looking for a quiet quaint nature reserve, this is it! Who needs a tv when you have two giant windows to see the beauty and awe all around you. We saw the Incredible Aurora two nights in a row!! Breathtaking! There was a smaller dimmer one on the third night. Mok is very interactive and a wonderful host. He even sent us a text to let us know a Mama Moose and calf were in the neighborhood, but sadly we did not see them. I give this place a 20 out of 10!!!
