I cannot say enough good things about my experience with Beryl Air. I had the pleasure of going on a bear flight seeing tour out of Homer Alaska and it was absolutely incredible. Our pilot, Stephanie, was not only highly skilled but also made us feel completely safe throughout the entire journey.

The tour itself was private, with just our group on board for the entire 6 hour adventure. We made two stops at Lake Clark National Park and Katmai National Park to see bears in their natural habitat. It was truly a once in a lifetime experience that I will never forget.

I highly recommend Beryl Air to anyone looking for a unique and unforgettable adventure. Thank you to Stephanie and the entire team for creating such priceless memories for us. 5 stars all the way!

We had such a memorable experience at Brooke falls thanks to beryl air. Our original flight was cancelled due to bad weather and Nina helped us arrange a flight the following day. Stephanie the pilot was fantastic and we were so grateful to be able to see this wonderful place. Highly recommend

I've had the pleasure of flying with Beryl Air on multiple occasions. The pilots and staff are top notch. Always a safe, comfortable and entertaining experience. The pilot guided Hallo Bay bear tour is a once in a lifetime experience. The Brooks Falls bear viewing tour is a great value compared to some of the local competitors. I highly recommend Beryl Air for any scenic or national park tours, bear viewing experiences or charter needs.

Incredible, once-in-a-lifetime experience with Beryl Air! Nina in the office got us set up with the perfect adventure: we did the Hallo Bay combo, which takes you to the amazing bears of Katmai and to a jewel of a lake in Lake Clark. We got to fly with Stephanie, owner and pilot extraordinaire. She has such a wealth of knowledge about bear behavior, local history and geology. Her calm confidence and friendly conversation made the flight really fun. It’s also incredibly scenic! We were most excited about seeing bears initially, but the flight is so much more than just a ride to their beach. We flew along the edge of the land where green mountains meet blue sea, over the perfect white cone of Mount Augustine volcano and then above an icy blue crater lake: stunning! We loved our landing at gorgeous Hickerson Lake. And the bear viewing at Hallo Bay was even more awesome than I could have hoped. There were so many more bears, they were so much bigger and we got so much closer than I imagined! If you have the chance, do this and be awed by the incredible beauty of Alaska’s wildlife and wild places. Thank you Beryl Air for one of the best days of my life!

TL;DR--Book a few days in the area to give you a little bit of leeway for rescheduling, if need be, especially in the more rainy months. This company has the most professional and kind people. They did everything they could to get us out and it was a trip of a lifetime and we made it!-- If you book with Beryl Air, it is truly a dream.

I am going to start out with: Beryl Air was such an excellent experience thanks to Nina, Henry, and Stephanie. I cannot explain to you how grateful I am for their professionalism and communication throughout the entire process!
We showed up for our time to fly out on the morning of 8/7, with another group present to go on a separate trip. As Alaska loves giving in August, the rainy weather was limiting visibility through some passes and was deemed not safe to fly. I asked about other possible options, as we were staying in Homer for a couple more days, and Nina very kindly told me she could call me around noon the same day to see if they could launch later. At noon, she called and we were still unable to fly. I did ask if we would be able to possibly leave any later today if the weather cleared up. In fact, it did not. Nina again called me about 3pm and followed up. I asked about any other possibilities of maybe next day or day after. There was an opening for a Lake Clark Visit late in the afternoon the next day and Nina signed us up for it!
As our previous Alaska trips have offered us a little experience in planning for A LOT of flexibility, I did mention if, for any reason, they had any last minute cancellations/changes/etc. and had availability open up, I would love a phone call to discuss options as we were staying close by! We kept our late afternoon Lake Clark visit on the schedule for the following day.
Fast forward to about 7am the next morning, I get a phone call from Nina at the Beryl office asking if we could be in the office within the hour because there was a clearing in the weather and we could try and make it to Katmai/Brooks Falls because there was a cancellation! My family and I packed up and threw everything in the car as quickly as possible to haul over to the office. We got there and rain had blown in again. Stephanie was keeping tabs on all the weather and Henry had gotten the plane fully packed up. We waited a few more minutes and the weather passed and we quickly left!
Henry was our pilot and was the kindest soul. There were a few bumps in the air (as you would imagine at some point any small aircraft) and I have to tell you his customer service is 100000000%. This kid is absolutely smooth and seamless with everything he did and delivered. We made it safely to Katmai and Stephanie had flown in just behind us. Stephanie had hiked out all the way to the platform and got us on the list so we could spend enough time out seeing the bears! Henry led us up to Brooks Camp and got us started with the rangers.
We were on our way to Lake Clark to check out conditions, which were not ideal, so we did have to turn back to fly into Homer. Henry provided us with such a great tour of the geography and parks we were passing over throughout both flights!
Overall, would absolutely 15/10 recommend Beryl Air for their customer service, hospitality, and communication. We will definitely be using them for our Lake Clark Trip! Thank you so so sooooo much to Nina, Henry, and Stephanie for making this such a wonderful and memorable experience!

Loved every minute of our Brown Bear watching with Stephanie of Beryl Air. From the time we booked with Nina, the arrival at Beryl Air the day of our trip, the flight to Katmai with bears in every direction and then our scenic return via the pontoon plane, every safety detail was taken care of. We were able to observe the majestic bears while they were eating sedge grass, scratching their back on an uprooted tree, a yearling bear cub and sow playing together, as well as a beautiful red fox with a newly caught meal in his mouth. I highly recommend Beryl Air for bear watching, glacier and landscape viewing and other trips.

We had a great trip. Stephanie is a terrific pilot. She pointed out various landmarks along the way to Brooks falls and Lake Clark including some history of the area. The booking process and communication with Beryl Air was easy.
