Great experience on Chili-bar express trip. We were a party of 11, and went in two boats. We had a great time on the rafts, swimming in the "safe" rapids which was scary and exhilarating, and sitting in the front of the boat and "riding the bull".

The lunch afterwards was outstandingly good considering that we were vegetarians: veggie burgers, yummy water melons, chips, cookies, etc. All the kids also loved the lunch. We watched our photos and videos during lunch and they came out very nicely.

On the whole, we really enjoyed the day, and strongly recommend Beyond Limits. The price was great too.

Loved loved loved our river guides. Ziggy was a badass and river goddess! We were three families with our 5 children in tow. We ALL had a blast on the river, they accommodated our cuckoo diets-mix of meats eaters, vegetarians and gluten-free folks, and we loved camping next the river (perfect sound for falling asleep) but they also had SUPER clean bathrooms, patios to lounge on, grassy areas to play. So worth the $$$!

Fun times! We had a really fun trek down a part of the American River. A glitch in their communications had us show up and hour early. Fortunately we were able to start earlier because the other group showed up 1/2 an hour early. Guide was good. We came close but no one "left" the raft. 🙂

Had a superb day out on the south fork of the American River with our guide, Lee and Beyond Limits Adventure. Well organized and customer focused, I would recommend the trip highly. From rock splats to rock 360s, Lee kept the day exciting and was always engaged to ensure that our group aged 10 to 50 had a great time.

One of our worries this trip was the fear of not enough water for rafting, but those fears were soon dissipated when we saw the upper stretch of the South Fork of American River. Plenty of water.

There was eleven of us in our family adventure ranging in age from 15 to 71 (me) and everywhere in between. We were greeted by our guides, who gave us a rundown on what to expect on the river, and instructed us on safety procedures. Then we were off!

We had two rafts for our party, which allowed us to wage many splash battles between rafts, and in short order we were all pretty wet and we hadn't even hit the first set of rapids yet. A note of warning! Don't even think of splashing the guides. It seems as if they have the ability of lifting half the river on the blade of their paddles and expertly flinging it in any direction with an accuracy that would make an F-16 pilot blush with envy. BUT....I know you will do it anyway.

Our guides, Jay and Mike were both friendly and well-versed with the river and its' various rapids and provided us with just possibly the best time we have ever had on the American River. From virgin rafter to my sixth time on the American river over a span of several years, this was the best, even with the river not at its' fullest. If you have the right guides, and we did, then they can make Class 3 rapids feel like Class 4 rapids. We were doing 360's through the rapids, deftly climbing rocks and rolling off of them, and having a great, exciting time. Looking around, we could tell that every other river adventurer had wished they booked their trip with us.

Our church put together a group rafting trip scheduled on Saturday, July 20, 2019 from 1:00PM - 5:00PM, and we had a total of 34 people utilizing six rafts.

In my raft we had six people plus our wonderful guide, Lee! He was awesome! Thank you Lee for doing such a great job getting us down the South Fork of the American River safely and making sure we all had a wonderful time! (Our group had people aging from seven to 63 years old).

Lee also made sure we had great video shots at the best rapids, with two different viewpoints. One view was the forward facing angle from the rear of the raft showing everyone from behind paddling through the rapids and the other was from the front of the raft pointing toward everyone in the raft as we hurled down the rapids! There are also photographer's on the river taking photo's at different rapids too.

Of course these are available for you to purchase at an additional cost. They offer packages that include both the photo's and the video or you can purchase them separately.

NOTE: You can bring a bottle of water/Gatorade/etc., a small bottle of sunscreen, and a hat to wear as well as your waterproof camera (with a strap to secure it to your wrist) and/or a GoPro camera. No small coolers, etc.

I suggest you leave your phone in your vehicle regardless if it's water resistant or not. There's a good chance you'll lose it. Wear water/tennis shoes, loose fitting clothing and/or a bathing suit with shorts (women), especially with material that dries quickly, sunglasses INCLUDING A STRAP (especially if they're prescription glasses) to keep them secure in case you happen to fall out of the raft!

Remember, river water is cooler than lake water and moves fast in most places. You'll be provided a life jacket to wear, don't worry. ENJOY YOURSELF!

like it's name beyond limit gave us beyond expectation adventures. Views are wonderful. We went lower rapids with dense forest on both sides. Our guide ANGUS was also a forester and a good man with immense knowledge of trees and surrounding habitat. We are very grateful. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.
