I just hosted a surprise retirement party at Torbert Street Social last weekend for my mom and the experience was 5 stars! Planning with Jessica, day of service, food, drinks, atmosphere and more all exceeded our expectations. I definitely plan on hosting our future events with Big Fish Events.

I was planning everything from the San Diego, flying in only days before without seeing the venue, which had me a little anxious. But, Jessica was awesome with helping with any questions I had planning from afar and provided great suggestions.

We brought in a Cake from CupKate's, photo booth from Entertaining Mirrors and custom signage for around the party and all were managed so well by the staff and Jessica.

Our family and family friends were BLOWN AWAY at the location, cocktails, food and service. I had so many people mention that they can't wait to visit again. Such a cool spot!

I want to give a special shout out to some staff members who were awesome and integral in helping to host this surprise party.
The event Coordinator Jess Ulmer was great to work with. As a west coast wedding planner, I was made to feel at ease planning from so far away. She is the type of venue/event coordinator that I always want to work with!
Event Staff, Servers and Bartenders Willie, Finn, Sophia & Roxy were so kind and accommodating with guest service and killed it with the cocktails!
Executive Chef Raci Garcia did such a great job with the food! Everything was so delicious from the sushi to the tray passed apps to the set charcuteries, fruit displays and cheesesteak rolls.

Thank you for everything Big Fish Events! Excited to do our next event with you already!

We had our wedding reception at the Torbert Room about a month ago with around 18 guests. The feedback from our guests was really good and the two of us certainly enjoyed the dinner! Everyone loved the sushi platters and I think both our moms ended up taking quite a bit home with them. The calamari was delicious as well. Our guest with the dietary restrictions was really happy with the service - I saw the big plate of veggies come out that was put together for her! She said they were cooked really well and were very good - above what many other places with similar offers have provided her. My mom said the carrot cake was some of the best she's ever had. I regret not trying some, but was stuffed by the time dessert came through. The steak medallions I chose as my main were absolutely delicious.

Additionally, Jess and the staff were easy to work with and made planning our event simple. (Including Dawn who I initially contacted for a slightly smaller event at Mikimotos, who provided the sushi for our event, but we used the Torbert room due to headcount.)

Our Holiday Party this year was held at Torbert Street Social in Downtown Wilmington. What a fantastic event! Easy to meet food and beverage minimums and a knowledgeable event planner that guides you every step of the way. Torbert’s vibe is always great but decorated for the holidays it was downright magical. The team’s attention to detail made every one of my guests feel like a VIP. A special shoutout to Jessica and Willie for all their hard work and flexibility.

My husband and I chose to have a small, intimate wedding but still wanted a casual reception at a later date. We love Torbert Street Social, and decided to have our event there. Our event coordinator, Jess Ulmer, was very helpful and attentive during the planning process and on the day of our event! The event staff at Torbert were awesome, our guests were complimenting their energy, friendliness, and skills! The food was incredible, thanks to Raci Garcia, everyone was raving about the pizza, sliders, and passed apps. We had the best day and it was all thanks to this team!

Susan and her team did an amazing job on all the food for our daughter's wedding! The guests raved about it all night. Everything was fresh, moist, hot and delicious. The fish and steak was perfectly prepared on site. The salad's and veggies were fresh and the passed hors d'oeuvres all tasted as good as they looked. The food stations were beautifully done as well. Even the cupcakes were fantastic ! Thank you Susan !

I couldn't recommend Big Fish more! We hosted our company holiday party at Torbert St Social (Jess was our fantastic coordinator) and could not have been happier. The place is gorgeous, the food was delicious (thank you Chef Garcia!), the drinks are out of this world and the staff was a blast. Could not recommend more!
