Booked Branch River Air for our flight to Katmai. They were great to work with and made sure to fit our family of 5 in their Cub airplane. They picked us up in town and took us to their building. The flight there went great. On the way home they allowed us to change our pick up time and even though it was raining, windy, and low visibility we made it back safe. They took great care of us and we will definitely use them again! I loved the flexibility with them and it felt more like a personal experience than just a shuttle ride to get to Katmai.

Great experience with these guys!
We went with them from King Salmon Airport to Brooks Camp.
They had the friendly driver wait for us at the terminal on time, taking us to their location. Garret was a great pilot, very friendly and calm, and made us feel very safe on the seaplane.
Would love to be back and use them again sometime.

Branch River Air was great to work with for our flight to Brooks Camp. They are customer service oriented. They went out of their way to accommodate my family. We arrived without bags and they were able to fly us to Brooks and brought our bags out later after picking them up from Alaska airlines. I have used other companies for transport to Brooks in the past but, plan to stick with Branch Air moving forward. Thank you to the wonderful pilot and crew. We loved our flight and trip.

We were on the tarmac in Anchorage when we learned that our water taxi for a long-planned, highly anticipated *day trip* to Katmai had been canceled for the next day. We were devastated and panicked.

Once on the ground in King Salmon, some warm-hearted locals working for a local commercial air carrier (can’t recall the company’s name!) called Katmai Air for us. No luck - they were booked. But Katmai encouraged us to call Branch River or another similar local provider (Trig?).

We called Branch River immediately, which was after normal business hours. Our first hero Donna answered the phone and said she’d most likely be able to get our group of 4 on a float plane for the day — but that she needed an hour or so to finalize the schedule. She called us back as promised and our group was booked on a small float plane for a day trip to Katmai. Hooray!!

Donna then came and picked us up well before normal business hours at our place of lodging. Upon arrival on the river, she introduced us to her dogs and, moreover, to our lord and savior (haha) Garrett (our pilot).

I wasn’t enthusiastic about taking a float plane for the short trip to Katmai. But the combination of Donna’s serene vibe and Garrett’s calm, even professionalism put me fairly at ease.

The day trip was a total success thanks to Branch River. Garrett even spotted a bonus grizzly on the shore during our departure taxi process.

P.s. Not for nothing: Credit to Katmai Air as well. They gave a great recommendation when they were booked *and* their crew at the Brooks Camp landing area helped us depart (even though we were not their plane/customers). That company also earned my loyalty.

August 19. Cool experience! If you haven't done it before, you should try- it's a very nice flight, especially landing. Our pilot was very friendly. Very nice people, helped us a lot by taking us on board after 6pm and getting us to the Brooks falls.
We tried water taxi after, but the floating plane is much more exciting and quicker!

Canceled the private flight booked us with a group, changed our pick up time the night before, then lied to me when I called back
. It was supposed to be last day out to the park , had flew with katmai Air 4 days before awesome service and great people . The owner acted like out of state out of mind you not local he don’t care . Stay away owners lied to us the party and to credit card company. Saying we canceled.

If I could I would give 0 stars.
Was charged deposit for privately chartered plane 12 hour trip a month before our trip. The night before our trip when I had to follow up for departure time, they informed us that they had put other people on our plane and now we would only be getting a 6 hour flight. They were rude, lied to us and would not refund our deposit. If I can not trust someone with my time and money, how can I trust them with my life in a small engine plane in remote Alaska.
