A Must-Visit for Locals and Travelers Passing Through!

The California Visitor Center in Auburn is an absolute gem! Whether you’re a local or just passing through, this spot is packed with everything you need to explore the best of Placer County and beyond. They offer detailed information on Auburn’s renowned endurance event, The Tevis Cup and other endurance trails.competitions and even have a special section on local authors—my book, The Adventures of Hot Wheelz the Horse, is proudly on display! I’m not biased! ?

The staff here are incredibly helpful, and their California-themed merchandise makes for the perfect souvenir. One of the coolest features? Their app! You can visit fun places, explore, and even win fantastic prizes like a Yeti mug. Whether you’re seeking adventure or just learning about the area, the California Visitor Center is the place to start. Highly recommend!

This tourism info "store" has everything you could ask for (maps, brochures, etc) for Placer County, as well as Tahoe area, El Dorado County, and more places of interest in Northern California. The woman who helped me had several good suggestions of more brochures for me to pick up. She put everything in a nice paper sack for me to take.

Strange place!!? Much space taken up with brochures encouraging you to go elsewhere. Go figure! Still they have information on local stuff if you ask.
