It is safe to say hiring Katrin as our wedding planner was the single best decision we made towards planning the perfect wedding. We held our ceremony in Heidelberg, Germany and initially tried to plan an abroad wedding from the UK to no avail, before we looked for a wedding planner and came across Katrin.
First and foremost, Katrin herself is a wonderful woman! She is kind and friendly, while also decisive and experienced. Katrin was a joy to work with over a long 3 year planning period, and it’s safe to say we’ve made a friend to visit whenever we return to Germany. She made an effort to get to know us well, and this was reflected in all her suggestions on how to personalise the wedding for us, which are all the elements we loved the most on the day.
Katrin’s immense network of connections was incredible and meant we had a wide variety of choices throughout the entire decision-making process. When venue hunting, Katrin found 4 venues which offered 4 completely different styles of wedding, which really helped us visualise exactly what was important for us in a venue. After choosing a venue and hotel, Katrin proceeded to negotiate great contracts on our behalf and proceeded to take on the responsibility of vendor coordination for the majority of our wedding. This was both a huge help as linguistically our German wasn’t at a level to negotiate effectively, and a huge stress relief for us to be able to leave the business aspect of the wedding in Katrin’s capable hands. When deciding vendors, we were offered multiple options along with examples of how they had worked together previously which made the decision simple and easy for us. Katrin’s recommendation for our wedding officiant was also superb, and honestly made the ceremony romantic, sweet and personal - a find we would not have found searching by ourselves. There was not a single vendor issue, and not an aspect I would change in hindsight; all Katrin’s recommendations were amazing.
As we were planning an abroad wedding, we were only available at specific points to be able to come in person to confirm certain aspects of the wedding, and Katrin did an incredible job of organising “Wedding Planning Trips” where we would efficiently see as many vendors as possible over the course of a weekend (yes even sometimes on Sundays, she is that much of a miracle worker!).
Onto the day itself, she took charge and made sure everything ran flawlessly. Katrin struck a perfect balance between supporting both the Bride and Groom, coordinating our guests into the right places at the right time, while also ensuring our tightly scheduled plan for the day went off without a hitch. But also, quite importantly for us, she became a part of the day itself like all our wedding guests, meeting all our families and even joining us for a little boogie at the end of the night!
We would absolutely recommend Katrin to anyone looking to plan a wedding or event in Heidelberg or the surrounding area.

Anne-Katrin and her team create magic! With very short notice, two crazy people from the US (that’s us) reached out to Celebrate Life Event planning to see if it would be possible to plan an international elopement for two in Heidelberg; this is a city (and country) we had never visited, where we don’t speak the native language, and we didn’t know anyone. She intently listened as we explained the experience we wanted to create and confidently tackled the request through only virtual meetings! She is professional, relatable, and a master of her craft as she delivered an efficient, low-stress planning process. Venue options, a hair and makeup stylist, a photographer, an officiant, a florist, a musician, and a private chef are just a few of the incredible resources Katrin coordinated for us with negotiated contracts through her network. Every vendor was superb as she sets the bar for excellence in service. Her warmth, hospitality, creativity, and zest for life was infused into every part and moment as she shared laughs, dried tears, and supported us through nerves and joy. There are simply not enough words for the fairytale Katrin created for us, and we are eternally grateful!
