My sister and I really loved the dog sled experience! It was really informative and we loved interacting with all of the dogs. It's great therapy! The dogs absolutely LOVE people and running. They are definitely well taken care of and happy pups! We plan to come back during winter when we can have a true dog sled experience and also do the reindeer tour with them. The musher is very experienced and we learned a lot. Highly recommend!

We stumbled upon Chena Outdoor Collective while driving and decided to stop in and see if we could join a reindeer walk before our flight. Ryne at the front desk was incredibly kind and accommodating, allowing us to book the tour with the option to cancel if it felt too stressful with our travel schedule. That flexibility really put us at ease!

Kalyn was our tour guide, and the experience was absolutely incredible—it ended up being the highlight of our trip to Fairbanks! She was extremely knowledgeable about the history of reindeer, explaining not only the historical context but also the present and future of reindeer in Alaska. What really stood out to us was learning how well the reindeer are taken care of—they go home with Kalyn each night to roam around 5 acres of land. As an animal lover who is cautious about animal tourism, this was so reassuring to hear. Knowing that these animals are not only well cared for but also loved made this tour by far the best experience we’ve had. We are so glad we stumbled upon it!

The walk with the reindeer was a truly enjoyable experience. We got to meet Sailor, Pilot, and the 5-month-old Bashdanai, whose spunky teenage energy stole the show! Kalyn also took fantastic photos of us with the reindeer and continued to share her expertise on reindeer and Alaskan culture throughout the walk.

This is the number one tour we will recommend to our friends, family, and anyone traveling to Fairbanks. It was an unforgettable experience!

We booked our reindeer tour in advance, and our guide was Kalyn. She was extremely knowledgeable and chill, made us feel very comfortable and gave us a lot of good laughs! We got to learn all about the history of reindeer, then met the 4 reindeer including a 2-month-old baby. The walk was leisurely with plenty of opportunities to stop and pet the reindeer. Kalyn was amazing and we give her 10/10!! Afterwards, we enjoyed the cute cafe right on the same property. I would drive the 45 minutes back just for the iced latte and fresh cinnamon roll ALONE! Overall an incredible experience and great way to spend a couple hours.

Kalyn gave such a wonderful, decolonized history of reindeer and the herd they handle in Two Rivers. Highly recommend spending time with Chena Outdoor Collective! And shopping their local artist collection.

Fantastic experience with our Reindeer walk! Rein (? I believe? Forgive me I'm horrible with names) was so knowledgeable and friendly! We got to learn all about the history of reindeer and caribou in Alaska along with their growth process before getting to meet part of her herd.

The reindeer were super friendly and gave us no problems (aside from some stubbornness regarding wanting to snack on weeds and moss but that's understandable ?) it was a delightful experience! Definitely a highlight of our trip!

Their shop is also filled with local artists' beautiful work and they're right next door to a great little cafe! A great place to stop on the way to Chena Springs! 100% would recommend to anyone and everyone!

Took a dog sled ride and had a great time with the musher, Spencer. It's a nice short ride, just right for kids. The Chena Collective owners clearly care for their fur babies as their pets and take them home each night, which was nice to see. Enjoyed it so much we came back the next day to walk some reindeer through the woods. Learned a lot, got some adorable pictures with these gentle ones. Reservations only.

We had an amazing time with Kalyn & the reindeer! Our tour provided a lot of information and history about reindeer before we went on a guided walk through the boreal forest with the reindeer. Our only regret was that we didn’t book the longer tour! I would definitely recommend this for anyone looking for a smaller, more intimate tour and I would definitely book again!

We did the reindeer tour as a family of 4, with two kids under 12. They were so knowledgeable, provided the info in a digestible and interesting manner. They seem to really care about the reindeer and providing an educational yet fun environment for all ages. Kids absolutely loved it and felt it was one of the best days of the trip. We will be recommending this place to others.
