Recently, due to the policy change, applicants may have to travel to the corresponding embassy to submit the documents in person. In my son’s case (he is less than 2 years old), we decided to use the third-party agent to help avoid the trips. After researching online and calling in for quite a few agents, we chose the China Visa Service Center. I placed my order on April 19th, and received the visa along with the passport on May 22nd. The appointment was scheduled for May 10th. Because of my mistakes, the finally correct document actually arrived on May 12th, therefore the actual days to process the visa was much less than a week.
Based on my personal experience and the excellent service received, I would highly recommend China Visa Service Center and CIBT to ease your China Visa application process for the following reasons:
1) MOST IMPORTANT: their very reasonable service fee ($185, please check their website in case it is updated). Even including the pre-check service (~$70) fee, it is still cheaper than quite a few other travel agents I investigated.
2) Their website is user-friendly. After submitting your order, the guideline kit PDF provided is very helpful to guide you collecting all the necessary documents. Also please do check with the embassy websites to ensure you have covered all the required materials. Additionally, you can easily track your order status via their system.
3) They provide pre-check service, photo check service and so on for your document. PLEASE DO USE Those services to avoid extra correction, re-applying , shipping and extra days delayed. I made two mistakes and had to re-fill the form at least twice, which made it delayed for almost 2 weeks. I was very regretful that I did not choose this service. Lessons learned, please also get the visa photo taken professionally.
4) Outstanding customer service and super friendly staff to work with, from the receptionist I called with to the visa expert. Janelle is the agent who worked on my case, and she is super responsive and supportive. Her experience and expertise surely made the process much smoother.

I found it is bit hard for all the applicants. I went twice so far. This is for anyone who needs visa. Please do your research and homework before you go there. They requested 100% what’s on the list. If you make a mistake you will have to fixed or fill out an application again. Good luck to you all. Yes. Listen people. This service is no joke. Whether you're grabbing a visa for your trip in a month or in two weeks, CVSC is the place I will recommend to all my friends. Samantha Levine saved my butt recently. I had to have my visa for my company on a tight, tight deadline. I got a call from my recruiter saying they need the visa numbers today to confirm or else I wouldn't have a job until 3 months out. So I emailed CVSC (Samantha), asking if she could help me at all. 1 hour before Fedex was going to pick up my passport to ship it, Samantha took the initiative to send me picture of the visa for me. She responded immediately, even after I was in a panic for 10mins after that company called me, and got me exactly what I needed. I stress, again, 1 hour BEFORE Fedex was going to pick up that package. It doesn't get any better than that folks. Customer Service is key in this business. THANK YOU!!!

I would give minus star if I could. The staff in the call center has extremely terrible attitude! The system sent me two contradicting emails about my application status. I called to figure out what is going on, given my case had been delayed for a month. She gave a very unclear answer. When I asked further, she hung up on me! Then I called back, she stayed silence and stopped talking with me!

Not realizing the visa requirements to China were so intense, I booked a flight to Shanghai on short notice.
