Best campground I've been to in this area. Nice small size. You can hear the water babbling by. Nice fire rings. Huge trees. Mostly shaded spots. Nice dirt road to stroll on.
They have ice and firewood available to purchase.
This campground is 100% reservation only as of this writing. Clean bathrooms. And there was good drinking water. Very close to Explore the Camp Verde area.
The camp host went out of his way to help me get settled into a spot. Impressed.
I definately recommend this spot!

The host was rude. Maybe didn't have his morning coffee yet. Reservation site was funky but when we got there early morning we found a site with no one in it and no signage saying it was reserved or unavailable. Temporarily parked there and then was walking around with our dogs to see if other sites were available and see the info on the board. Ended up walking to the host's site as he was leaving in his golf cart. He didn't even say hi or ask if we needed help when we are clearly walking up to him. His first words to us were literally "this area isn't open for walking, you can't walk here". No duh... We were coming to get info from you dude... I was taken aback by this for a second before I tried getting some info from him on availability. I guess all sites were taken or reserved which I get that is a bummer but he wasn't even trying to be helpful to us and was just being dismissive when I asked other questions about the empty, unsigned site. Glad we didn't say here with such a rude host.

My husband and I do dispersed camping a lot but decided to give this spot/"campground" a try. What a terrible idea that was. The campground allows dogs, and we brought our dog, but other camper's dogs were barking all night. In general, this campground is very loud.

We booked it for two nights but ended up leaving after one. We booked site 8 which we really enjoyed the location of but our neighbors at site 7 showed up at 8pm and were setting up camp loudly for several hours, not to mention they had a large construction style spotlight facing towards our site. It was a large group and we were not next to any group sites.

We attempted to get some sleep around 10:30pm and they were still loud around 3am. We were up at 6am, made breakfast and packed up and left shortly after. This campground is VERY much city camping and I suggest picking a spot off a dirt road and doing dispersed camping for more peace and quiet (and it's free).

I have camped in Zion and Havasupai at designated campgrounds with a similar setup, twice the size, in a canyon, and have never experienced a campground that was this loud with guests who have zero campground etiquette.

Would definitely recommend!
Absolutely love this campground, it's so close to West clear Creek. It's maybe a 3 minute walk to an absolutely stunning spot. I hiked up the river for about 4 miles and found a bunch of caves. Definitely climbable but I did find mountain lion prints over my footprints when leaving. Was told that there was a very friendly old skunk that likes to say hello to people, unfortunately did not encounter any wildlife. Other than birds, so many beautiful species. I saw Prints from a mountain lion, alot of coyotes, and deer! Make sure you bring bug spray as there are mosquitoes and little bugs year round. I didn't end up bringing enough wood and it was quite pricy at the site. I had absolutely no problems with any of the staff they were all relatively nice. It's nice that this campsite was open during the winter as many campsites are not open year round. Great place to camp will definitely come back in the autumn.

Nice, basic campground. Itโ€™s a decent jumping off point for verde valley, Sedona, and especially montezuma castle national monument, but fairly ordinary and a little overpriced for what it is. There are a couple short hiking trails and a stream that runs right past a few of the sites, if youโ€™re lucky enough to get one. Vault toilets and central water only.

The host was super nice! I love how thereโ€™s no music allowed making it family friendly. Day camp and water near by.

This campground is really nice. Lots of big shade trees and clean bathrooms. Unfortunately there's not a lot of privacy for the campsites that aren't first come first serve.

A precious, peaceful and gorgeous campground. A jewel in the rough. Too bad the campground host was so hostile, yelling at me because I apparently parked in the wrong spot which I had questioned the setup. I had asked someone who I thought was the camp host ( apparently he was a camper who never let on he wasn't. ) if it was ok where I was parked? He even walked over to the site and said I was fine. A few minutes later a golf cart comes skidding to a stop kicking up the dust with a raging camp host!
He didn't give me a chance to speak, just ranting at me. It really ruined my whole day. I almost left!! Bathrooms were dirty too.
If you can ignore these things and not psst off the camp host, you'll love it!! Great hiking and mountain biking right at your door step!!
