So, this is a place that we have driven by 100 times and always wondered what is it all about? Better than I expected. We watched 800,000 swallows migrate this evening. The captain and crew are very knowledgable of this birds migration which was fascinating. We were able to BYOB and food onto the boat. The boat is not packed with people. I would say it's a must to just take a ride if you don't want to take in the swallow show.

Amazing trip to see the swallows in migration. Guides were friendly and knowledgeable. Had an amazing time! I just wish more people could experience this phenomenon. Space is very limited and the tours sell out fast.

Great Thursday Music on the Dock! Beautiful view. Watched ospreys fishing while we listened to an awesome band. Didn't visit the museum, though.

We ended up taking the sunset Cruise on the Onrust legacy sailing ship. It was a wonderful 2 hours cruising up the Connecticut River, turning around and returning under full sail. There were fewer than a dozen of us, plus a knowledgeable, careful, capable captain and crew. It's a great way to learn about the history and the geography. And a nice way to unwind after a busy day. We were delighted that the captain was able to arrange a double rainbow for us as we came back in.

As part of a wedding weekend we took the murmuration cruise in the evening from the museum dock. Should have looked into the museum too since that is included in the boat price but too busy with pre-wedding errands.
Cruise was great, enhanced by all the good food we brought for family gathering of 20-30 people. Guides were very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Tree swallows fully cooperated and put on a great sunset show. My old eyes needed binoculars to fully appreciate the bucket list spectacle but the boat crew supplied binocs for everyone.

Amazing

Very informative front staff. I learned a lot about the Connecticut river and all the local industry and community who have occupied the river valley. Clean restrooms and plenty of parking. Side note for locals, free passes to the museum available can be checked out at your local library

This was a cute museum and a relaxing ride on the Connecticut River. The two guys working the tour were charming, knowledgeable and complimented each other well. Some folding chairs were set out in full sun, while others, plus tables, were under an awning. We saw several families pack a cooler and had lunch. We purchased our tickets on line, and were pleased to discover that the price of the tour included admission to the museum. The people at the museum desk were all friendly. While the museum itself isn't that big, it had some cute, quirky artwork on the stairway walls that was interesting enough to take a closer look at.
