Crowne Plaza Melbourne-Oceanfront, an IHG Hotel - Melbourne, Florida

We recently stayed for 5 nights in a sea facing room. The hotel is in a fabulous location right on the beach. The hotel can feel a little dated in some areas but is spotlessly clean. The staff (and there are plenty of them) are all extremely helpful and welcoming and couldn't do enough for us. The happy hour in the Longboards bar on Monday to Thursday is very good value. We also visited at weekend and the food was excellent. We had read some negative reviews about the live music at weekend but we really enjoyed it. It is not intrusive and is finished by 9pm. The Anna Delgado band were great. Other positives are the fabulous sunrises which are worth getting up for and the free bus transport which will provide free trips within a 5 mile radius of the hotel (and pick you up later until 10.30pm). Breakfast on the terrace was very nice with some excellent choices on the menu. $40 for 2 sunbeds and an umbrella for a day on the beach seemed a little steep but that seemed to be a set rate on this stretch of beach. A nice hotel in a fantastic location with great staff is recommended.

Mollie was an amazing server. We had my son‘s seventh birthday waking up at the beach here and she made it so special. She brought him a cute little cake with candles and we sing him happy birthday. She was so kind and the food came out really fast and the food was amazing.
The rooms were clean. The beds were so comfortable and clean! Since it was spring break. I was a little nervous about late night noise but It was really quiet at night!! Pool was warm even though we had some cold 65 degree days- Brian at the front desk was polite and very accommodating when our room keys didn’t work upon arrival and went above and beyond to fix it all and make sure we were comfortable.

I am always warmly greeted by the front desk clerk, Jeanette, and the valet who are very polite and informative.
When we checked out on the 10th, Shawndy was at the Front desk and she was very polite and helpful as well .
We always choose the Crowne Plaza Melbourne on the beach for all our travel needs. We recommend this hotel to all our friends relatives and business associates. It is very conveniently and centrally, located to all excursions golf courses, restaurants, and the highway.

The hotel was very accommodating For instance, when I asked for a room with a bathtub .
I was then pleasantly surprised when I arrived ant my hotel room and then walked into the beautifully decorated and newly renovated bathroom with a nice large spacious tub with shower.

We stayed here this past weekend for the first time and everything was great! Tia at the front desk was super nice, friendly and even offered to give us a different room for a king bed instead of 2 twins with a better view! They have a Starbucks with a lot of options for coffee and tea conveniently located in the lobby. This was way better than just having coffee dispensers with Starbucks blend. The pool area was nice and the outdoor bar area was great and stayed open til 11. The room was clean and the valet staff was nice. We would stay here again whenever coming to the area.

Great hotel right on the ocean. Watched the sunrise each morning. Clean rooms and comfortable bed. Staff at check in were very friendly and accommodating even though it was a very busy Valentine’s Day weekend. The restaurant has a great view of the ocean. We brought our own beach chairs. Pool area is okay. Its locked by 8 pm and made getting to our room more difficult because we had to go through the entire hotel instead of cutting through. We found great places to eat nearby and drove up to Merritt Island to ride bikes. This is our second time staying here and we will be back!

We were 3 ladies just trying to have a fun overnight stay on the ocean and enjoy the pool, beach, and bar. I understand the hotel was very full, but our room had a view of the elevator and the toilet did not flush properly. Also the very convenient elevator stopped working. They did not have another room to move us to, so they gave us 3 drink coupons, but the coupons had a $9 limit on them and cocktails at the bar are $13. I thought that fell short for compensation for our lack of accommodations. (The next day the front desk offered to give, just me, free breakfast--not all 3 of us, this was around 10:40 am and breakfast stops at 11:00--I'd already had a pastry from the coffee shop.) When I called to make this reservation, I specifically asked if the pool was heated, but upon arrival it was very cold and only the toughest couple of kids were ever in it briefly while we were there. Valet service did not help us at all with the luggage either upon arrival or departure. (And we are all three 65 years old plus). I've stayed in several Florida oceanfront hotels in this price range, but this one you had to rent your beach chairs from a 3rd party vendor. I asked for a late check out--IHG Rewards Club Members are supposed to get to stay until 2 and I understand that is by availability, but when I called the front desk they first said 12 noon and then finally gave me 1 pm checkout. Pretty hotel, nice beach, but we did not feel that it was worth the money for our experience.

Check-in process was great. The very friendly clerk informed me that NONE of the rooms had a view of the ocean. My bad for expecting a view! After all I had just come from a Holiday Inn Express at Pensacola Beach where ALL of the rooms are oceanfront. If I could have cancelled without a penalty I would have. Next, I found that breakfast was NOT included in the price. Not happy about that either, but OK. Then I found that we had to haul our bags via a breezeway to another building. It was raining and thundering. Under the breezeway was wet. The route was dark, and at 10 o'clock at night we felt as though we were not completely safe. NOT good!! The room was OK but definitely NOT up to the standards we have come to expect from IHG.

The next morning we were heading downstairs to check out and the elevator DID NOT WORK!!! My 77 year old wife and I had were pretty disgusted with your hotel so rather than walk down the stairs, through the breezeway, just to find there was NOT a bellman, we just hauled several heavy suitcases down the stairs ourselves. Not a happy experience with your Crown Plaza!!!

Although Joe has retired, the staff has not missed a beat. From Tia, Marco, Jeannette, and Shawndy at the front desk, to the cleaning staff, to the great staff at the restaurant bar including Martin, Jeremy, Casey, Sebastian, Ed, Sean, and Emma, my stay was exemplary. I truly felt values and appreciated. The location on the beach included live music plus access to other amenities. There were restaurants and shopping within walking/driving distance. I have been staying at this location for over 15 years and look forward to my next visit. Keep up the great work.
