Good food good service good atmosphere. Known for good home cooking comfort food. It has been featured on Diners Drive-Ins and dives. Local establishment has been in business for years. They have a nice soup and salad bar that can be added on to a meal. A little hidden gem.

What is find! A wonderful kitschy adorable place with amazing homemade comfort food since 1946. I recommend the fried chicken, the corn pudding and root beer float. Our first visit absolutely will not be our last.

This is the biggest sandwich I think I've ever seen in my whole life. It was very flavorful and the fries were pretty good. Salad bar is good and clean food. Moist lettuce like it's supposed to be. The only down side is the price. 10-30$ per person depending on what you order 7-15$ for kids.

We visited this restaurant while on a trip to Chicago. It was a wonderful experience. The staff was friendly as soon as we walked in the door. The chicken decor and red checkered table cloths were delightful. The star of the show was the food. The chicken pot pie had the most wonderful flaky crust,was an exceptional size and quality. The kids were impressed with the taste and size of the chicken strip baskets. The chicken and dumpling soup was delicious and well portioned. The experience was wonderful, we will co.e back the next time we are in town.

I love this place! It's like stepping into a time machine and traveling back to a fun time in history along historic Route 66. The fried chicken is amazing! As good as it gets. It's no surprise that this place has also been visited by Guy Fieri. At lunchtime, they have an all you care to eat buffet with their famous chicken - both fried and grilled - house made mashed potatoes, salad bar, and lots of other high quality goodies.

Sunday night dinner there were 3 of us. Busy but server was at our table rather quickly. Great service and chicken is the name of the game here. Large portions of food. Had a good experience here all throughout the night. Gluten free options here for dinner

The chicken was incredible!! I don't normally consider myself a fan of fried chicken, but this chicken was something else!!! The coating was crispy but light, the chicken had flavor, it was so so good. I got the buffet option and had all kinds of chicken, chicken and waffles (with pearl sugar!) and even little burger sliders that were so good, it tasted like they were freshly grilled. Can't wait to go back again soon!!!

I had Dell Rhea's saved on my "want to go" list on Google after coming across a video on social media of someone recommending it.

Let me start by saying there are chickens EVERYWHERE. No, not live chickens, chicken decor, and no two chickens are the same. Trust me, we looked.

The restaurant embraces its location along the old portion of Route 66. The signage and decor outside clearly showed this. (Pictured)

Anyways, onto the food,

I was so impressed by the taste and quality of such simple dishes

Cream of Mushroom soup was amazing. A bold, vivid flavor that paired incredibly well with their soft, smooth yet crumbly buttery rolls. This soup is worth a visit alone. It's likely in a first place tie for mushroom soups all time for me.

Mac and Cheese bites (pictured below). Apparently listed on WGNs "best of" lists. Certainly deserved the recognition. Can taste the quality on these. 4 to an order, and they come sitting in a pool of cheese. It's about $3.25/piece, but it's definitely worth trying.

Chicken Fried Chicken. (Pictured) 2 very tender and breaded breasts served with chicken gravy, mashed potatoes, and corn pudding. I'm not sure I've ever had breaded chicken so tender that a butter knife sliced through it with ease. This, too, was very good. The mashed potatoes on the side were a little bland in taste, but they were actual mashed potatoes with skin in them. Corn pudding (corn bread roughly) had hints of jalapeño in them. It was okay. Very sizable portion on that.

Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and personable. I don't recall her name. But she came with refills and to go boxes very quickly. She also answered our questions.

They also have a buffet during the week, and during weekend brunch, we didn't try it, but noted maybe 15 or 20 options on the hot island. We were informed it was $22 and a lesser option for endless soup and salad existed as well.

I hope to return here many times. There wasn't anything about my visit that I even slightly disliked.
