We started out thinking we could plan a 150-person Pittsburgh wedding remotely from Virginia all by ourselves (oh, hubris). A few months in, I was overwhelmed and freaking out, which meant it was time to ask for help! Melissa completely understood and seamlessly picked up where we had left off.

We had to be efficient with our vendor visits, because we were coming from out of town, and Melissa's coordination made those experiences so much easier. Every vendor we hired was overjoyed to be working with Melissa, and it's easy to see why! She has a great eye for design and interpreted our vision so well. We had a specific need for hair and makeup, which was more difficult to find than we had anticipated, but Melissa and her team worked hard to make sure all needs were met.

More than anything, Devoted To You was organized and efficient, both in planning and execution. We had a shared Google folder where all updates were recorded and I could ask questions/give comments between meetings. They also shared several helpful planning and timeline documents that kept my ADHD brain organized and on track.

Day of, we were both so calm, because Melissa and her team reacted quickly to every little thing that came up. We received so many compliments on the flow of the event from guests and the wedding party, but all the credit goes to Devoted To You. Their hard work allowed us to float through the day and focus on the reason we were there. We enthusiastically recommend them for any event!

After the excitement of celebrating our engagement, we started to plan our special day. That is when it hit us… holy *%$# planning a wedding is not going to be easy. Melissa was referred to us by a friend and after five minutes of talking with her for our consultation, we knew that Devoted to You Events was going to help plan us the grooviest wedding this side of the river. Melissa took every single idea that we had and made it even better, she added her creativity and flair. While visiting a vendor they referred to me as a “Melissa Crawford Bride” meaning my wedding was going to be out of the box, unique, edgy, and HELLA amazing and boy was she right. It is still such a compliment and honor that I got to be a Melissa Crawford (Devoted to You Events) Bride. Not to mention after having 90% of our wedding planned COVID hit. When I decided to move to NYC to work as a crisis nurse Melissa was one of my first calls. We both cried together, and she promised our wedding would still be as perfect as ever, and boy was she right. We truly can’t thank her and her INCREDIBLE team (s/o Renee & Morgan) enough. Not only did Melissa connect us with great vendors but they all worked seamlessly together. There was no stress at our wedding, only dancing, smiles, and even some karaoke! Every detail was better than the next and the whole day was flawless. When our guests talk about our wedding, they say that they have never been to a wedding that felt so much like the couple’s personalities. Melissa thank you for making our disco dreams come true, we are forever GRATEFUL!!!

Devoted to you and Melissa really helped our wedding day go off without a hitch. Obviously planning a wedding is a pretty hefty task, but with Melissa's help we really felt prepared and spent the day focused on ourselves and our guests, not the wedding.

We started with plenty of lead up time and she provides a lot of handy charts / excel sheets that really drill down into details that we quite honestly never would have thought to think about. With that we were able to go through line by line and really felt like we had planned for just about everything. We also paid a bit more as Melissa had worked with our wedding venue previously, which I think helped us really now down the area for how we wanted to handle the ceremony and reception as well as make sure we had correct seating and tables which at times felt pretty overwhelming.

Our only small issue we had was communication was a bit spotty or delayed and we weren't sure if information was making it to the other vendors which worried us a bit at times, but really it turned out absolutely fine and come day of everything went perfectly.

My Wife's mother and aunt ended up going down to the venue day of for load in and setup, because nothing short of an asteroid striking the earth was going to stop them, but they told us that Melissa and her team were phenomenal and incredibly organized.

They handled putting together meetings with the vendors and generally ensuring that everything day of was accounted for which we cannot be thankful for enough that really made it feel like the perfect day.

I have been waiting to write this review for a few months because I truly cannot capture the words to express how grateful I am for Melissa and her team! From the second I met Melissa, I knew that she was the perfect person to help plan my wedding! She brings a confidence and calmness to the table it is absolutely invaluable. She is creative, passionate, and just frankly awesome!

Our original wedding was scheduled for May 2020 and Melissa was there “pivoting” constantly through our multiple reschedules.

If you are hesitating whatsoever about hiring a wedding planner… Do not. Especially if said planner is ”Devoted to You.” Her knowledge, expertise, and relationships are worth more than you could ever imagine! To say that you get a big bang for your buck is an understatement!

A huge thank you to Melissa for absolutely every part of making the perfect day happen for us!!!

I am an avid review reader, not a review writer... but if you are reading these reviews trying to decide on a planner/coordinator or you are on the fence about even hiring someone who does this-- stop looking now and hire Devoted to You!!

Hiring Melissa was hands down one of the best decisions we made for our wedding! Everyone kept asking my husband and I 'Aren't you stressed?!' leading up to the wedding, and we truly believe Devoted to You is the reason we kept responding 'Heck no!' every time! This team is worth every penny. Melissa was organized, incredibly kind and knowledgeable, stood up for you as a couple on what YOU wanted your wedding vision to be, and so so much more (if I wrote down how incredible she is, this review would turn into a novel). She has an amazing eye for design. From a handful of photographs and hearing about things we love, she organized and designed a wedding that was more than what we had dreamt of... saying she is an absolute genius is an understatement! The Devoted to You team put out fires and solved problems on the wedding day we didn't even know about, and the entire wedding weekend could not have been more smooth and absolutely stress free without them. If we could do it over again, we would hire Devoted to You again in a heartbeat!! We promise you will not be disappointed. 11/10!!

Working with Melissa was the most stressful part about our wedding planning process.

The only thing that was useful was the vendor connections we got through her.

However, we paid for a full wedding planning.

We didn't pay ~$7000 for just an intro to vendors...

She was unprofessional and was late to almost all meetings by a few minutes. Always had excuses for everything and never really apologized and owned up to her mistakes. Not what I would expect from a wedding planner.

It felt like we were working on a high school project. We had to figure out many things last minute and ask many of our guests for help so our special day didn't collapse on us.

We shouldn't have to feel like that when we're paying big bucks to plan for one of the biggest and most memorable event in life.

All in all, we are extremely disappointed in the services provided by Melissa. I hope no one has to go through what we went through.

Melissa and her amazing team conquered and delivered for our wedding day! It was a true pleasure to have her be our wedding planner from start to finish. She was with us every step of the way. Especially working with her on many aspects of things from recommendations to meetings. She handled the coordination on the day so wonderfully. She and her assistant catered to our needs and we felt pampered from head to toe. She was a terrific lead on our rehearsal and from making sure that the wedding ceremony begun and ran to the time we had allocated.

Would highly recommend her and her staff to cater to your event or in our case a wedding day!
