This was a great experience! Our captain spent a good part of the trip explaining the migrations and what we could expect, and he made sure we saw a whale! Overall it was a great time for everyone. Love that they had the visibility access clearly marked and gave very clear instructions

Monday 4/21 no whales in sight on the 1 hour whale watching tour but still had a great time! Captain and crew were very sweet with my 4 & 6 year old. They even let us take our golden retriever puppy on the boat due to him having a liver shunt and won’t live long to experience all of the things!

Dockside Charters was a wonderful experience. They had a very easy and fast check in, with super friendly staff. Parking wasn't bad. We did the Whale watching tour, which went successfully, spotting 3. Things to note: there's a bathroom on the boat but due to the rocking of the waves, I would not suggest it, there is also an inside area to sit if needed.
The captain and crew were nice, helpful and very knowledgeable of the area and whales. Dockside also offer fishing, which will definitely be my next adventure.

A Whale of a Time with Dockside Fishing and Whale Watching!
We recently had the pleasure of embarking on a whale watching tour with Dockside Fishing and Whale Watching aboard the Surfrider, and it was an absolutely incredible experience! From start to finish, the trip was fantastic.
The captain and first mate were true professionals - knowledgeable, friendly, and clearly passionate about sharing the wonders of the marine world with us. They ensured everyone felt safe and comfortable throughout the journey, and their expertise allowed us to get up close and personal with these magnificent creatures.
The Surfrider itself was a great vessel for whale watching. It offered ample space to move around and plenty of excellent vantage points for observing the whales. And observe them we did! The whales put on quite a show, breaching, spouting, and swimming alongside the boat. It was truly a breathtaking sight to behold.
Dockside Fishing and Whale Watching provided an unforgettable experience that we highly recommend to anyone seeking an amazing whale watching adventure. We can't wait to book another tour with them soon!

Due to inclement weather our tour was moved to the following day. That was understandable. The crew took us out the very next day. The captian was very knowledgeable. Same for the crew man. The seas were rough and I didn't expect much. But, once we sighted some whales, he did a great job keeping the boat moving with them. The crew man was able to spot whales quite quickly. I think we were early in the season, but was very entertained. 5 out of 5. I would book this tour again.

This place was excellent to work with. We wanted a memorial service to spread ashes at sea. They knew exactly what we were talking about. Very understanding. It was smooth from the first call. The boat ride out to a mile out was a bit choppy but the captain told us it would be. There were about 13 of us on the boat. They cut the engines and let us conduct our service at sea. A wonderful experience. This charter service was pleasant and accommodating.

Several years ago we experienced Depoe Bay friendliness and amazing opportunity to easily make arrangements to ride the waves as we headed out to see among the whales. Dropped crab traps and then baited - well our host baited hooks for yummy rock fish!!
Got back to shore and our crab were boiling faster than we could gather our senses! our rock fish catch was packed so freshly and in no time we were off to a nearby motel to sit out and eat our crab sip chardonnay and watch the whales do their last sleepy wave. It was magnificent- it was easy and laid back.
but that was about 15 years ago. only one of us is left now but ohhh the memories of this place and her people! Thank you!

We did a 1 hour whale watch trip- we had our initial reservation moved due to weather - they were very accommodating to the inconvenience and gave us several options to reschedule. Luckily it was at the beginning of our trip so it was simple. I’d recommend that you do the same as weather is unpredictable. We got on and the kids did wonderful (ages 2-11) the skippers worked hard to find a whale and we saw one! It was a wonderful experience and I feel fair priced.
