I was visiting Pittsburgh and at the top of my list was a Doors Open tour - it was so much fun! I learned so much about the city and the history of the different buildings in downtown. I'm pretty new to Pittsburgh and the Doors Open neighborhood events are SUCH an awesome way to get to know the city - even if you've lived here forever! My parents visit me frequently from Atlanta, and the Downtown neighborhood event was their favorite thing they've ever done in Pittsburgh. I recently did the Northside event solo - got to see everything from a brand new space museum to a "before" vision of an apartment conversion to a 150+ year old private social club's HQ. This is so well-organized - volunteers are super helpful (and I'm considering becoming one)! I am planning to check out the other tours and events Doors Open Pittsburgh offers. DOP news blasts are some of the few marketing emails that I actually open and read!

We recently did our second Doors Open tour. This one was at Choderwood. What an interesting and informative tour! A little part of Pittsburgh that we would never have known about! The guides and the owners were very welcoming and friendly, as well as knowledgeable. We have another tour scheduled for July downtown and will probably do more as there are several tours of interest coming up. We are glad we found Doors Open!

My boyfriend and I have recently been on the Pittsburgh Mounted Unit and the Pittsburgh River Rescue tours. Both were very interesting, informative and enjoyable. They the history of the past and role that it plays in the present. My family and I had a great time experiencing Doors Open Pittsburgh 2016. My three children left Pittsburgh after graduating from College in the '80's and '90's. They were thrilled be able to go through so many great establishments. We didn't get to see all that was open, so we are looking forward to the 2017 event. It will be a good reason for them to come home for a visit. Great event!
