The first impression is the most important. The concierge had an interesting attitude that made me feel unwelcome so I thought to ask for a supervisor but unfortunately the lady herself had a supervisor tag name. The second issue I had was the breakfast being 17.99 was a bummer. If I knew I would have booked another hotel because we got a suite for 3 people. I admit I should have paid attention for that detail. But I definitely wouldn’t stay here again even if was free.

There were no blankets on the sofa bed setup nor in the closets. I went to the front desk to ask for an extra blanket and was told they don't have extra blankets and offered me a fitted sheet. What kind of hotel doesn't have an extra blanket? Better bring your own if you're cold because they won't make any effort to find you one

Let’s mention the good stuff first. It really was just two in my experience. 1st, front desk staff was very welcoming and friendly. 2nd, is the location considering I was in Huntsville for a business trip to Redstone Arsenal military base. The location of the hotel was very close to Gate 9, so it was very convenient to commute while I was there.

Now onto the bad, unfortunately there were several of them. The entire building is in desperate need of renovation. It’s super old (at least it looks that way), carpets are sticky and don’t have much cushion, door locks are very rough in closing, bathroom in my room had rust marks and water stains pretty much everywhere. Breakfast is (!)EXTREMELY(!) expensive!!! Who in their right mind would pay $18 for hotel breakfast?!!! During my one week stay I didn’t even have one breakfast at the hotel simply because of their prices. I couldn’t justify it while I was paying less for my lunch or dinner while eating outside let alone paying that much for breakfast. Unfortunately, Hilton Honors credit is only $15 for Double Tree and that wasn’t even enough to cover the breakfast. A huge disappointment, if you ask me. All in all, if I wasn’t Hilton Honors member or if it wasn’t for room unavailability during those date with other surrounding Hilton hotels I wouldn’t have stayed at this hotel. If I travel again to Huntsville (which most likely I will in near future) I will make sure to pick a different hotel for my next trip(s).

This is a great location with a very friendly staff! The rooms are nice, clean, and beds are comfortable. Yes, the rooms are in need of renovation, but they are not bad at all. You can just tell the furniture has some wear on it, which is perfectly fine to me. The room is clean and bed comfortable, and I believe that's the most important part. Thank you for a great experience so far!

This hotel has gone way downhill. Ive stayed here multiple times year after year every time, every time I have to come back to Huntsville. And every single time the hotel gets worse. I don’t know if it’s the neighborhood or the management, the hotel is decently clean, but the clientele is awful. There’s fights in the hallways. It seems dangerous exiting your room. I won’t be returning here, And it’s a shame. This place used to be nice.

Positive: Proximity to restaurants and shopping. The property grounds were well kept Negative: The rating of the property was 4 stars. I stayed in a spacious suite, but it was definitely not a 4 star property. The cleanliness of the room was subpar (nasty carpet, splattered wallpaper, dirt and grime near nightstand, etc.)

The staff is helpful and friendly
1. Breakfast is expensive and never ready in time. This is an issue of have an early meeting. They claim it is free but they charge you points.
2. The bar routinely runs out of liquor.
3. Rooms are big, but they are date and show signs of wear.
4. Hefty cancelation fee if you leave before your reservation ends.
5. I stayed for 3 weeks so I had plenty of tine to experience this hotel.

The hotel is very old. The room is clean, but the bed exceeds its expectancy and wasn't comfortable. The pool is very big, but the gym is tiny. The gym gets busy in the evening , and I have to plan my gym time. The restaurant food is excellent, but the booths need replacement. I have stayed in many Doubletree hotels, but this one is by far the worst. The coffee is a water down and only available in the morning. There is no menu for the restaurant anywhere to be found unless you ask. The location is ok, but not many restaurants are available. Across from the hotel has two Mexican restaurants and a cafe that's good.
