The Dover AFB class six/gas station is one of the worst when it comes to product availability. Additionally, not being able to make special orders is frustrating, AAFES would make much more money if special orders was possible at the class six. Although, if I was rating this solely on customer service, it would be five stars! The AAFES staff across the board are outstanding and you can tell they are truly sorry when they have to say they can’t do special orders for alcohol. It’s sad that Ft Dix and McGuire AFB has better AAFES accommodations than Dover AFB! Guess I am making the drive North!

Convenient location; gas is generally a few cents cheaper or on par with the surrounding area gas prices. The pumps are usually free with little to no wait time for access. Shoppette is stocked for the most part and the liquor/alcohol/beer selection isn't bad. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Truly a pleasant place to get gas and snacks... or whatever floats your boat.

I see my previous review disappeared. Always show my ID card but my last visit I was told by the clerk its only needed for alcohol and tobacco. Always thought shopping on base was a privilege. So I get a 99 cent bottle of water and show my ID card . Give her the money and start to walk out. She calls me back and said I'm not done. Now for the first time I have to decide if I'm gonna give some money to charity. WTH ! I give more to the AFAF than most people do. Now you have customers looking over your shoulder to see if you give or not . Thought I was done and she calls me back again to press something on the screen for a receipt . Never had to do this with any of the other clerks who were much more friendly. She's the same one who gave me way to much change back for a purchase several months ago. Got to my car and saw it was to much . Went back in and returned it .Didn't even get a thanks for that . Most of the clerks are nice though. Oh , still haven't resolved the issue with one of the fuel dispensers that I brought up last year . If this place was a private business off base as in my first post , they wouldn't last long
