We stayed one night. The room itself was clean and comfortable. The bathroom could use some work-the floor was dirty around the baseboards and the tub had a large stain.
The breakfast waffles were excellent. The staff in the breakfast room were pleasant and helpful.
The price of the room was good. Unfortunately we later got a $12 bill for parking. No one mentioned one had to pay for parking. That would have been nice to know up front.

I've been a loyal Marriott guest for years, which is why my recent stay at the Fairfield Inn in Scranton left me incredibly disappointed. My week-long business trip began on March 30th with high expectations—thanks in large part to a warm welcome from Alicia at check-in, who even upgraded my room and confirmed my request for daily housekeeping. However, it didn't take long for those positive impressions to vanish.

Throughout my stay, housekeeping consistently failed to provide even the most basic level of service. On the first day, after returning from a long day out, my room wasn't cleaned at all. The following day, despite leaving early and reminding the front desk, I returned to a partially serviced room where critical areas, such as the bathroom, were neglected. This pattern continued over subsequent days—each time I encountered either incomplete cleaning or no service at all.

What made matters worse was the lack of response from management. I reached out via two separate emails—one directly to the General Manager and another to a higher-level manager—hoping for some acknowledgment and resolution. Despite my efforts, I received no reply or phone call, which only deepened my frustration and disappointment.

For someone who has consistently chosen Marriott for my stays, the failure to address these issues is unacceptable. The lack of accountability and follow-up from the management team has severely shaken my confidence in the brand. I believe that if a long-time loyal guest is treated this way, it's a serious red flag for others considering a stay at this location.

I sincerely hope Marriott Corporate takes this feedback to heart and works on improving their service standards, as this experience has left me with little choice but to share my story and warn future guests.

Positive: The room was clean and the breakfast was good. Price for a quick overnight stay was fine! Negative: The hallway smelled very strongly of old cigarette smoke. The waffle batter needed to be refilled.

Very nice stay and very reasonable price for a Marriott property!
I stopped here for a business trip nearby.
I can't understand some of the not-so-good reviews for this hotel, I think they might be trolls or just posting for some Motel 6 across town...

Friendly staff, clean rooms, very comfortable bed.
Very good price.
Ill definitely stay again when I'm in Scranton area

Positive: Absolutely great gym for a hotel, with weight machines, elastic bands, barbells and multiple treadmills/step machines. Modern, well-appointed rooms. Convenient outlets and USB charging ports. Negative: Very minor issue: the elevator could use some aesthetic help.

Was on the 2nd floor and you could hear all movement from the 3rd floor keeping us up. Bathroom floor was all chipped and had dirt through out. The heater/AC was broken in our room. Hotel in general felt very understaffed but the staff there was very friendly. It’s a 2 star rating for a 2 star hotel. The breakfast was cold at 8am with very little choices.

This stay was a disaster.
Started with a dirty bathroom, then a clogged bathtub, phones not working in the rooms, dirty microwave, and refrigerator, no room service after repeatedly requesting at the front deck for 3 days, and no Internet. When requested the staff to contact support they said they didn't know who to call and there was nothing they could do. They said they didn't have any open rooms as the hotel was fully booked. There are lots of better and more comfortable choices.

My experience at this hotel in Scranton, PA was not only frustrating but also deeply disappointing, especially given the circumstances. I was in town for my uncle's memorial service, and what should have been a simple reservation process turned into an absolute nightmare.||It started when I arrived in Scranton and realized I never received a confirmation email for my booking. Concerned, I called the hotel to check if my reservation was in their system. To my shock, they claimed there was no reservation under my name, leaving me scrambling to book another place to stay at the last minute.||However, the situation only worsened the next day when I noticed a charge on my credit card from the hotel. Confused and frustrated, I immediately called the property again, only to be told they still couldn’t locate my reservation. I had to personally provide my information to the front desk staff, who then passed it along to their operations manager. After much back-and-forth, I finally received an email from the operations manager who suddenly “found” my reservation. Despite the clear error on their part, there was no offer of compensation, apology, or acknowledgment of their incompetence.||To make matters worse, I filed a dispute with Marriott Bonvoy, believing they would step in and help resolve the issue. Instead, the property had the audacity to lie to Marriott, claiming they had never received any calls from me. As a result, Marriott Bonvoy completely failed to stand by their customer, leaving me with no refund and feeling utterly disrespected during an already difficult time.||This experience was not just an inconvenience—it was a total lack of empathy and professionalism during an already difficult moment in my life. The dishonesty and incompetence from both the hotel and Marriott Bonvoy are inexcusable. I would strongly recommend avoiding this hotel if you expect even the bare minimum level of service and integrity.
