I stay here several times a year. I have not ever had a problem with my bill. I know they hold a 20$ incident fee which is normal. I stayed 3/22/25 and was charged a 30$ charge from what the receptionist was telling me for market place merch from 2am that morning. My husband and myself was asleep at that time and had not purchased anything other than the nights stay. I ask her to review the camera it wasn't either one of us . I asked why wasn't id taken and the name of the person's name on the room. I spoke with her in person bf we checked out she said she would get with her mgr that was on vaca and have it resolved. We loaded our vehicle I went back to assure this would be taken care of. I was told I would receive an email BUT it was for sure taking care of. I am back home looking at my statement and boom there is that 30$ charge. If I or my husband had made this charge then fine BUT it is not fair that the hotel made this ERROR in charging me bc the person at the front desk FAILED to do their job correctly and then when bought to their attention lie and still not correct the mistake. I hope this is not the new normal operating procedure for this Marion Fairfield Inn .
I did dispute with my cc company and I will receive a credit back.

rooms are nothing special, out of date. customer service was crap, no surprise given everyone in southern Illinois is a moron. Be advised, this area is dying off, no one invests back into the community that used to be promising 20 years ago. Expect sub standard facilities and under educated work force and you'll be pleased.

Ashley was extremely helpful!! I had to book an emergency room for my daughter who was driving home after Thanksgiving. Ashley was so accommodating and understanding under very trying circumstances. If you are in Marion and need a place to stay, I recommend this place. If Ashley can handle my issue, I am sure she can take care of anything!

Two stars - one because the rooms were at least clean and one for the young man working the desk as he was competent and friendly.

Otherwise, I’d give zero stars. Rooms are outdated, our bathroom counter was broken, sheets and towels were worn out and yellowed. Pre-Covid prices remain but you do not get pre covid service. They will “refresh” your room every OTHER day with fresh towels and making the bed and only actually clean after six nights?! Thankfully we only needed one night or we’d have left.

Upon arrival told keys don’t work and have to be let in to room each time during stay. Wasn’t notified of this prior to arrival or at time of booking. This wasn’t something sudden as reviews on Marriotts site for this hotel have similar reviews from weeks ago.
Just totally unacceptable.

Spent three nights here - Friday to Monday morning - they did not have room service clean or even inspect the room until the final night on Sunday when I literally had to call the front desk to have it done. Then these two women show up at our room and swap out the bathroom towels, bar of soap and waste basket liner. That was it. They didn't change the bedsheets nor did they vacuum the carpet, which really needed it. There was small debris on the carpet in the room. The bed pillows smelled like someone else's greasy old hair. They DO NOT launder the pillows here between guests. I suspect the mattress pads and sheets are touch-and-go with these people as well. The hot tub in the pool area has brown slimy bacteria or algae growing along the coped edging. The water drinking fountain by the pool is crumbling apart all over the floor. For being a Marriott property, this place is run rather low class.

The ladies that worked the counter and the breakfast buffet were very kind. I am thankful and appreciative of the visit overall. Keep up the excellent service 👏

Dont stay Here!.....I booked for 2 nights when I arrived they advised they were doing construction on the floor I was booked in and that everything should stop by 5pm. When I got off the elevator I was shocked. I literally was put in a room with construction on all sides of me. The room was very outdated and was not what expected. my biggest issue though was after the first night I noticed I was having small bumps coming up and being real itchy. When I got back to the hotel, they had not done any room service and I found a small bug dead in the bed. When I pulled all the covers off the bed I found 2 small bed bugs at the foot of the bed. I immediately called down stairs and couldn't get an answer. I quickly went down to the front desk and told the guy at the desk. He apologized and said he would make a note. So far I have not gotten the email with my receipt.i'm sure i will have to fight them on charging me for the 2nd night., even though i left. Luckily the Holiday inn had a room. It was a much better hotel to stay in Marion. And trust me that is a hard thing for me to say. I am a pretty loyal Marriott member.
