Spent a fantastic afternoon at Folsom Lake with some friends on their pontoon boat. The water was crystal clear and the perfect temperature for swimming. Boating here is a great experience, especially if you visit during the week to avoid the crowds. It was a wonderfully relaxing day, surrounded by the natural beauty of the lake. Highly recommend for a peaceful escape!

The lake is low right now, but it actually adds kind of a surrealistic other planetary vibe when you're down near the water. A great opportunity to take photographs on what turned out to be a sky full of incredible clouds!

Amazing lake! Just bring your wallet because like everything else in California it ain’t free! No free beaches or other areas that we were able to find. Great views, big lake with lots of boats.

I grew up here in the 80's. Lake was always pretty full of water. Fished, learned to sail, hung out with friends, 4x4 the trails in Granite Bay & Rattlesnake. Then the water was gone in early 90's. Returned to visit family, August '23 and had to visit. Lake was pretty full again, unlike the 30 previous years. Was fun and beautiful to see it so full and people enjoying the lake again. Warm water and dog friendly!!

Nice big lake but I wish they didn't dump all the water out so early, also there is a ton of debris to avoid in the lake

So far the Middleridge Trail here at the Folsom Lake area is my favorite, except for the star thistle field. but, I think you can avoid that if you stay on the paved trail for a little bit. There were great views of the river and you come down to the water in the middle of the trail. It could be a nice place for lunch. I think it's going to be beautiful in the spring but you do pass over some dry creek beds which may make a spring trip very wet.

It's an amazing place to spend with your family and friends,I recommend to go in a group as there is nothing to do but admire and enjoy nature.
$12 is the parking fee till 10 pm, which is when they close.

The only draw back is there is nothing to eat, no truck or something like that. If you are new to town or you plan a random visit to the lake make sure you pick up something to much on your way or else you will be starved.
A planned visit with loads of food and drinks would definitely make the trip to lake awesome.

It's a huge place and I saw people skating, barbequing and mostly boating. Best picnic spot in town.
